Come in come, in do you read me?
Well quite a lot has happened since I last wrote on this blog. I have travelled everywhere from Milan to Birmingham and even Bollywood to do a cabaret sequence in a film!
I now have my own 'Secrets in Lace' Burlesque School which has been much fun so far.
Just thought I would fill you in on some of my highlights from the past year:
Performing on the Main Stage at Bestival last summer was real highlight- the festival was a total washout but the sun came out for my show and doing it in front of 1000 people was a real thrill if slightly surreal! All their staff are lovely and I was given my own trailer to get dressed in- but afterwards I got turfed out for Grace Jones. ha ha. It was nice taste of stardom though however brief!
I also did my first show in Paris a few weeks ago for the wonderful Gentry de Paris. It was a tribute to the artist Yves Klein where I covered myself in blue paint and then body printed myself onto a 10ft Tricolore Flag to Serge Gainsbourg’s ‘Je T’aime’. I was nervous- but I got a standing ovation! Which made all the work worth it although I did look like an smurf for the rest of the night….I have just uploaded some videos from YOUTUBE onto the main page and the night was reviewed here.
http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/france/090424/celebrating-burlesque-parisThe London Burlesque Festival last month was brilliant I performed two new shows 'Studio 54' and 'Miss Moneypenny' and I organised the fashion show with the lovely Dan Whitsett from Secrets in Lace. What a show! and the girls all looked gorge! It was great to see some other Burlesque acts too- I'm usually backstage. Annette Betty, Beatrix von Bourbon and Siren Stiletto's shows were all highlights for me.
I also filmed a video for 'The Enemy' last week. It was shot around Soho and Primrose Hill- it really was like going back to the 60s! All the rest of the cast looked amazing and it was such a fun shoot. It even ended up with us on Primrose hill at sunset and then running down the hill- although I slipped and skidded really far in my PVC mac! As soon as the video is online I will post it!
I'm also doing an interview and shoot with Grazia this Saturday. They are coming to my Burlesque class at 2pm at Last Days of Decadence so if you would like to book your place please email
