The following is a repeat of a blog I posted recently at my
main myspace page.
Please see the
duplicate blog for some comments already made about this, including touching words by John's Mom, Zebbra Oliver. Many thanks to Racheal and Don Campbell for being the FIRST to donate to "John's Team" because of the blog I wrote.

Hi Everyone,
I would like to announce my intention to donate 50% of all the net download money from my drunk driving themed song "I Wasn't A Friend" purchased through my page at
http://blastmymusic.com/Lynncareysaylor to the "John's Team" Strides For Change walk fund in Raleigh, N.C., from now until the date of the walk, March 29, 2008. Also, If you purchase an entire album download of "You Like It Clean" for $9.99 through the above link between now and March 29, I will donate half of those net proceeds as well. The album download not only includes all 11 songs from my CD, but also a bonus 12th song not on the album. It's the only place on the Internet that you can get the 12th song included with the album download. If you are not familiar with my song "I Wasn't A Friend", it can be heard in its entirety on my myspace player or at
http://drivingdrunkkills.com.
The site
stridesforchange.org is a MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) website and they are the organizer of the event and beneficiary of the funds raised. MADD works in more than 600 communities across the U.S. and has more than 1,400 trained victim advocates on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to support victims with comfort or legal assistance they can rely on.
John's Team was started and is headed by my friend Zebbra Oliver who lost her beautiful and talented son Johnathon Ferguson on October 2, 2005, when he was killed by a drunk driver at the young age of 19. Although nothing can bring John back, Zebbra walks in this event in memory of her beloved son because she wants to help raise awareness and funds so that other parents don't have to go through what she had to endure by the immeasurable loss of losing a child to a drunk driver. Zebbra's fund raising goal for her walk on March 29th is just $1,000. Please help her meet (or hopefully exceed) this goal by downloading my song or album from the above link or by going
directly to her page at the strides for change website and making a donation. If you happen to be IN the Raleigh area, Zebbra would love to have you join her on the walk! Details on that are at the stridesforchange web site.
Below is my very favorite picture of John, playing his guitar, which Zebbra tells me he loved to do. Because I also play guitar, I feel a special bond with this great picture of him in particular and wanted to share it with all of you.

These words below are from John's Mom:
WHO WAS JOHN.........
He was a son, a brother, a grandchild, a nephew, an uncle, a friend, someone's love.
Johnathon was full of life and loved life. Johnathon was a very talented young man in almost all areas of his life. He could do anything he put his mind to. Johnathon had many friends and was kind to everyone no matter who they were. He was a sensitive and loving young man. Johnathon wasn't a trouble maker, he was never arrested and he didn't do drugs, drink or even smoke cigarettes. Johnathon 19 years old knew that if under the influence of drugs and or alcohol and to get behind the wheel of a vehicle was a danger to himself and others. At a Every 15 minute program put on by the local Police Department and MADD at Chaparral High School where Johnathon was a student, he became very emotional after seeing how the actions of drinking and driving could hurt a family and friends and take a life or life's in a instance.
He will always be loved and in my heart. I miss you John.
-John's Mom, Zebbra Oliver
