How cool is this?!... Kristina con Vita won the grand prize in the GoGirls Songwriting contest! YAY!  Kristina and I were pretty shocked!  We submitted to the contest pretty much on a whim without really giving it much thought. 

So yesterday, while rehearsing for the wedding party that we're playing at on Saturday, we checked our email (from the latest email to the most recent email- which totally threw us off - since Madalyn Sklar, the head chick of GoGirls, had sent the email about our win, first, and then, sent random bits and pieces of information in the later emails) to find that we had won the contest!!! Yippie!! 

The news made Kristina feel pretty nauseous with excitement, and I had chills all over my body.  GoGirls is a pretty neat group that supports independent music from women all over the world.  It's great to not only be a part of the group, but also to be recognized by them as having written a great song.
