I will be vigilant...I hope that you will be too.  I don't want to end up like Spain...or Cuba.  Get a clue people, charisma alone will not fix the course of The United States of America.  We are in for a long haul where the effect of regulation of industry and commerce by our government will certainly drive the cost of current goods through the roof, because that is what it always does.

I hereby serve notice to all of you, my fellow Americans, that we need to remain vigilant, as our resources (that's goods, services, and manpower) are dissected, by foreign interests, like the wealthy China , Japan, and Middle East OPEC power mongers continue to gobble up our resources (industry) and land.  We will need to FORCE our elected officials to fight for OUR rights.  Not the rights of

China will never invade the US, nor will they nuke us....they wouldn't want to harm their property or the people who are buying their goods.

Now, back to the current issues at hand:

Unemployment-jobs will continue to be shipped overseas as the cost of doing business here in the USA is too expensive (people are demanding too much pay for too little value, skill, all while demanding better benefits, yet productivity is down.  We may have invented industry but complacency and a false sense of entitlement  have allowed every other industrialized nation to surpass us in efficiency and quality... therefore destroying our ability to compete in the global market.

This, and this alone is why we no longer have the leverage to be the "Big Kid On The Block" globally.  Our wealth has been whittled away by a minority...a minority that wants more, but does not want to work harder for it.

The Athiests took God out of  government and schools, and in turn want to take away the majority's right to even celebrate Christmas freely.  That's right, soon there will be no freedom to utter God, Jesus, and even say "Merry Christmas" on the street...because it will offend someone who doesn't share your beliefs.  That litigious streak in our country that athiests have has undermined the very reason The United States came to be in the first place:  The Right to worship God as you see fit.  10 Percent of the population (Athiests and Non-Christians) are pushing out the very God that was a driving force in the birthing of our beloved nation.

Foreign born citizens are even demanding that The Pledge of Allegiance be banned, because God is uttered in it (Not their God)...and they also want us to teach things in their native tongues.

I'm sorry, but Fu** that!!!  You've come to the USA because your homeland is a piece of shit!  If US money is good enough for you to earn and spend; if the US Military that protects you is good enough to protect you and your rights; and if our national language is English and it's good enough for us, you'd better learn it, live it, and love it or go elsewhere.

This country was founded by a belief that God/freedonm of religion is an integral part of life, and English is OUR native language, so if you are enjoying the rights and privileges that these United States of America afford you, you'd better not piss on what it was founded by.

No one who stormed the beaches of Normandy, June 6th, 1944 was asking Allah for strength in an Arabic dialect.  No Sailor I know of was calling on Buddha for the strength to save his shipmates on December 7th, 1941 in Pearl Harbor in Cantonese.

Yet English speaking Americans died liberating the Arabic nations oppressed by Nazi German and Italian forces so that they could worship their Allah.  Similar English Speaking soldiers, sailors, and airmen from The United States also pushed Japanese oppressors out of China, where genocide against the Chinese was occurring during WWII.

These same Arabic nations who now seek to destroy us...these same communists who'd deny us the very freedoms we helped them obtain in WWII...remember that folks, when they come for your guns, jobs, and your rights.  Better find your faith, your conviction, and educate yourself before it's too late.

Because if you don't believe in and stand for anything, you'll fall to your knees for anything.

These are my thought and opinions.  Far too many better men and women (better than you and I) have died for my right to express these opinions, and I honor them by expressing them, and fighting to continue to do so.  Try that in the Baltic States, Middle East, China, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Spain, Cuba, Serbia, etc.  If you speak out there, a mob will rob you, burn your ass in the town square, and hang you on the city gates.

God Bless America

Jeff Good

P.S.  It would seem as though I have a bunch of people jumping to all sorts of conclusions based on my li' printed opinion here today.  So, as a rebuttal to those who are confused, misguided, and as a clarification to all (agree with me, hate my effin guts, or just idly standing by taking it all in):

A) I'm a (well, I was a) staunch born and raised Democrat.  I however have lost faith in ALL politicians, and I would have issued the same statements/opinions above regardless of who our country elected.  I don't trust them, they do not impress me, and likely I will never trust them again between now and my death.

B) I am the furthest thing from a racist (although no one has sacked up to tell me that they thought so, I know some silly Fokker(s) out there was(are) thinking that) and I have a pretty damn good track record to prove it (college friends, roomates, current friends, colleagues, students, and neighbors).

So, if you want to drop that card, pick it up right now and stuff it up your misguided ass.  Every human being starts off with 100 percent of my respect, until they do something to to lose it. Anyone who's paid attention to me over any period of time would know that.

I've admired many men and women of color for many different reasons throughout my life, and will continue to recognize the positive accomplishments of all humanity, regardless of race, creed, color, or NFL team affiliation.

C) In every presidential election I have been eligible to partake in, I have voted my EDUCATED opinion.  Sadly, when I have dug deeply into every candidates record, I have been profoundly disappointed.  The same applies for governors, most senators, and most congressional candidates.

Yet I continue to vote, and voice my opinions.  As stated above, I honor those who've fought for my rights, as well as the rights of all my fellow Americans to speak freely, to worship without prejudice, and to vote.  Did I say anything about any candidate in particular in the previous statements?  NO, I did not...

D) Which brings me to my final clarification: Vigilance, by definition means:

Now that I've handled the formalities, here's the rub people:
"Always question authority; always do your homework-research your candidate's history and track record; choose substance over style."

That is my wish and my advice to all of you.

I pray for the world to flourish in peace and harmony.  To experience a new renaissance of cultural highs, to extinguish disease and suffering.  But until that utopian dream is realized WE are responsible for our own fate in THIS, the greatest country on Earth because we do have the power.  The tools to educate ourselves are available, we just have to work for them and use them to the best of our ability.

I'll "shut up" when I'm dead. I hope to leave a legacy of fighters in my wake, persons who opinions are based sound research, and cemented in their actions.

It's my right, and I have chosen to exercise it.

Amen.

God Bless America, land that I love, Stand Beside her, and Guide her through the night with a light from above (That means a higher power, people)...perhaps you've hard this song before?? If not, it's because the mighty minority has fought to have it banned from schools, public events, and government proceedings. Because it offends them...gimme a fokkin' break!! Those that this song would offend, need to get out of the USA.

in some ways you're right, but you're also sounding like an extemist yourself. Obama will be the Kennedy of our generation. watch. i bet. let the propaganda settle. while he his slightly left from Nixon, we survived Nixon and we'll be fine.

i'm in tears today because two things i never thought would happen in my life time have come to pass...and both were things i always wanted to see...

we have a president that is NOT the traditional older, white, male protestant.

we have legalized marijuana - at least for medicinal use. we are the 13th state to do it...my lucky number.
and you bet, with my fibro, i'll be getting my script!!!!!

i can't help but be proud that the coutry recognized that we needed change, and that the young people stood up and voted more than they ever have. he got the lower SES and the younger generation to give a fuck about voting. to me, that's the start of a VERY nice change.
let's just pray to God and get on our officials to keep the change POSITIVE.

thank God for change in the system.
they baracked-the vote!

remember, rosa parks sat so that martin luther king could walk so that obama could run...so our children can fly. let's pray that's the case. the decision has been made. either choice was a scary one, but now we have the do the best with what we got, not run around with propaganda that will scare people.

Any comparison between Kennedy and Obama is like comparing a gold fish to the loch ness monster.

Our country can not run on carisma and false hopes, and so far, thats all Obama has shown.

Jeff, I am with you 100% on this.

But for the first time inmy life, I have felt shame to be an American. Are we so impressed by celebrity and easily lured by the media that we actually let a totally unqualified person become president? Yes, we are are.

For starters I wouldn't stretch any comparison between Kennedy and Obama...unless he's served in a war and been banging a supermodel actress behind the scenes. I admire Kennedy's accomplishments, but he was just an exceptional man. No more, no less. Obama is the same. Could he carve a niche in my heart? Sure he can...but I'm skeptical. That's all I'm saying. I'll be watching, paying attention, and will not be bamboozled.

If Dr King were alive and running for President, I'd have voted for him. He too was an exceptional man like Kennedy, and one I have always admired. He was a man of intense passion, courage, intelligence, and integrity. He'd have had my vote. Obama isn't even close to the level of man that Dr. King was.

Anyone can say "change." But you see, all change isn't always good. I'll need convincing. Neither candidate in this past election impressed me much. But I voted with experience in mind. I voted for a candidate that "actually" voted a majority of the time, not for one that just showed up. You have to do more to impress me than just "show up."

God Bless America, we need a lot of fixing, and Obama has my support, if he can right the ship. Otherwise, I won't be heartbroken if he fails. I'm not sure the ship can be righted anymore.

Damn good post from a friend who's eyes are open and who is not under the spell that selfish desperation breeds......

the quagmire here bro is that all of this is also end times predictable. Fuq, you dont even have to be a card carrying Jesus boy like me to recognize end times in a globally inspired restructuring of power.

you hit it on the head: we want more, we demand more, while producing less.

and then we re-produce, passing this listless set of lifeskills onward to our children.

Look at Detroit and the crumbling auto industry, while everyone else is pointing fingers I'm looking at the unions who demand ridiculous things lin light of the competition we face.

Look at all of these families who so staunchly look upon Obama as their savior, and look at how many of them have no dad's at home.

Look at the all out war on traditional Judeo Christianity from people who try to claim that this is still a nation controlled by right wing christian zealouts, while pop culture, the ACLU, and our new commander in cheif prove otherwise.

quite a time we live in.

Thanks for noticing what I was trying to get a my friend!

The "Judeo-Christian" war is over, haven't you heard? There is no more pledge of allegiance in school, because it sites a "God." Those who don't believe don't like it, and those who aren't WASPs or worship Vishnu, Buddha, or Allah are offended too.

My Christian God was on a boat out of town decades ago. But at least the Albanians in Sterling Heights don't have to worry about their children leaning their studies in English. Because the English language offends them. WTF??? Why are the moving here if we offend them so???

I am an Athiest. I never really had faith from a young age, I witnessed all the hypocrites and figured it out for myself. I did dabble in Paganism, but never did buy into all the god/ess stuff. And I like to call spell-casting: "Focused Intent".

I KNOW that there is NO GOD, just as certain as someone else KNOWS that THERE IS.

I'm just curious...

Brenda made mention of losing our unalienable rights, gun control and such... What makes you think that Obama would take these away? And not sure that he can make this country any better... did you have full confidence that McCain could or would? In all seriousness. I'm not trying to be cheeky. Those are very bold statements and I'm curious as to what exactly prompted them.

Oh, here are a couple examples, of about 7 cited:

Ok for states & cities to determine local gun laws
Q: Is the D.C. law prohibiting ownership of handguns consistent with an individual's right to bear arms?

A: As a general principle, I believe that the Constitution confers an individual right to bear arms. But just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can't constrain the exercise of that right, in the same way that we have a right to private property but local governments can establish zoning ordinances that determine how you can use it. (Barak Obama's answer to the question)

FactCheck: Yes, Obama endorsed Illinois handgun ban
Obama was being misleading when he denied that his handwriting had been on a document endorsing a state ban on the sale and possession of handguns in Illinois. Obama responded, "No, my writing wasn't on that particular questionnaire. As I said, I have never favored an all-out ban on handguns."

Actually, Obama's writing was on the 1996 document, which was filed when Obama was running for the Illinois state Senate. A Chicago nonprofit, Independent Voters of Illinois, had this question, and Obama took hard line:

35. Do you support state legislation to:
a. ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns? Yes.
b. ban assault weapons? Yes.
c. mandatory waiting periods and background checks? Yes.

Obama's campaign said, "Sen. Obama didn't fill out these state Senate questionnaires--a staffer did--and there are several answers that didn't reflect his views then or now. He may have jotted some notes on the front page of the questionnaire, but some answers didn't reflect his views."

President Elect Obama has voted for restrictions in gun sales, reduction in gun ownership, and is oft quoted as saying that "private ownership of guns" is unnecessary in our time. Umm, Helloooooo, I hunt, I shoot for sport, and if someone breaks into my home, I'll take them out. And I don't mean to Denny's for a Grand Slam breakfast.

Check his voting record. He want's guns out of "citizen's hands."
