I never understood what authors and artists have to go through in order to "get discovered" until recently.  It sucks!  - maybe I am being a bit harsh at the cycle of finding my way or rather learning the ropes of being a writer.  It bothers me whenever I go to a book store and find books that hold very little value - to my liking, and maybe my works will be viewed as nothing to value for many.  What I am trying to say is this - we all have dreams and ambitions but it seems kind of shitty that many of us who are fighting so hard to accomplish such goals and ambitions are given the shaft by the corporate world simply because there isn't much benefit for them.  I know many great artists and musicians who have more talent (not saying this because I know them) than many of the so called "known" or "discovered" artists and muscians, yet these great friends of mine are at the bottom of the totem-pole for the simple matter of not being recognized by the corporations.  In these kind of fields it's not how much schooling one has, or how well one performs, writes or illustrates - it's all about who you know.

I had the privilege of speaking with, on many occasions, a well known author Marlys Beider
www.marlysbeider.com - many of the struggles she faced over the last 10 years are exactly the obsticles I am currently facing.  So perhaps we all need to "earn our stripes" if we want to get recognized.
