Hiya Mad Parrots fans, sorry for not communicating for a while, I'll buy you both a pint, ok?

There was a rumour that a Mad Parrot tribute band (the Bad Carrots) is to play at the Desperate Dan Statue,Dundee, at 5.30 on Thursday 19 July. We're no happy about this. Especially since we were available ourselves to do the gig, leaving our tribute band to play the places where we canny be bothered going, like Strathmiglo. So we made a deal. Three of us will do the gig and the Bad Carrots can provide the bass and drums. Given the fact that the Bad Carrots are a mere shadow of the standards set by the Mad Parrots ( for example, the guitar player never seems to manage that important third chord, and the fiddler seems kind of stuck on Nobody's Child) we feel that we've got a fair compromise. We get the drummer and the bass, and the rest of the band get twenty quid and sent down to the lap dancing bar. For lessons.

We're on holiday now, and the next full Parrots gig is the Aberdour Arts Festival, Fife, on 28 July. We have a sociologist who follows us about to study us for her thesis, if she comes to this gig I think she'll leave with more to say about Fifers than ceilidh bands.
