Every Jungle Needs A King

Never been one for appearances and negative images

Before we move into it just let me finish this

And I can tell you about the way that he did it

The smooth way that he spit it and how he had me up in it

The situation had me thinking I was caught in a dream

Now I'm a fiend hoping I don't burst at the seams

Overdosing on his sweetness he had a weakness

He was on the low so we had to creep this

Now everybody got it all figured out

Got me pegged as a home wrecker

Need to check your own record

Then you will see what this is really about

He gave me moments that I can't live without

Figure this out?

The first time I every saw a king

The first time that it occurred to me

That it just might be more than admiration for me

He had a smile that could part the sea

Six foot

Brown skin

Bowlegged with the grayest eyes

Brushwaves

Tight fade

So I gave him time

Had no number so I gave him mine

He was anxious

Wanted more than conversation

I said he had to be patient

Baby, we were barely acquainted

But he had me bated

So, what's the sense in us waiting

He had a place that was vacant

Said he hoped I could make it

It was really unexpected but I had to respect it

Dripping with affection it was more than erections

I would listen when he spoke

Much like a therapy session

Another level of rapture too hard to capture

Could he really be the smooth operator I'm after

He told me things that I will never forget

Only a man can understand just how deep it can get

Who would believe he has desires he can never reveal

Had an urge he couldn't purge until the need was fulfilled

Never had a moment of silence

Never had a day without violence

Never thought that he would find this

Moment of peace that he found with me

John Basil was his name but it was Steve to me

That's how we met

Looking for a place to be kept

It would kill him if you knew how he stepped

Sometimes the hardest places (and spaces)

Are right where you are

That's why these faces navigate in the dark

Treading lightly on a course

But of course it's never meant to last

We played it fast but got lost in the draft

Inhibitions spilled out and no doubt they led him to me

An underworld he never thought you'd see

I know he told you I was only a friend

He was a star and I was more than a fan

Now like a line in the sand I reappear on demand

When he needs me

The only one who treats me good

That's why I laid it on him like only a brother could

I know his spots?

Got what he got?

And when you not

I make it hot

Make it hard if you want to

If you really think he still wants you

I know it haunts you

I did the things that you won't do

What one woman won't the next man will

And the thrill of being kept was real

If I was his Mars and you was his Venus

Then he was the sun that kept it warm between us

You said he cheated now you're heated

Don't believe him but he never lied

You never asked him if he ever led another life

I'ma tell you the truth and get it out in the open

I'm hoping you could see it and if not then let it soak in

Bleed inside your mental it was not coincidental

That my phone was in your Lexus rental
