wow. that's still all i've got. yesterday, we played the Hideout Block Party here in Chicago aka Bloodshot Records' 15th Anniversary BBQ. i guess we were all still riding high from our instore at Reckless Records Thursday. maybe were excited to have the entire Bloodshot staff, our booking agent, our manager, and all our friends and family. maybe it was the THOUSANDS of other people, as far as the eye could see. all i know is that was the best show i can remember us playing. the sun was shining, we had a beautiful view of the skyline, and we were sharing the stage with amazing artists like Bobby Bare, Jr, the Wacos, and Alejandro Escovedo. once again, the Block Party was the perfect way to end the summer. Bloodshot brought boxes and boxes of cds and vinyl, but they were all sold out by 7pm. we couldn't even walk to the food tent without being stopped by newly converted fans. it was a great way to kick things off for ...and the horse you rode in on.
so, the official release is tuesday. i know we're all very excited to unleash this upon the world. it can get a little nerve-wracking, waiting for an album to drop; you're about to be publicly judged, after all. but i'm really proud of the work we've done and the way Elia has grown as a songwriter, and we couldn't be happier with the reviews we've been getting.
