If you missed last week’s show, honestly, what were you thinking? We probably had one of our most engaging and electric crowds ever as we determined who the next Got Jokes? Improv Superstar would be. Tim and Ryan were pretty impressive but in the end, the people spoke. And the people chose Barry Naylor! Last week we also had the privilege of hearing Richard J. , our feature, do his thang’ bringing an element of spoken word unique to the Tampa Bay Area. Richard brought da’ funny and the crowd ate it up officially giving Richard a lifelong pass to perform at any Got Jokes? show in the future.
This Saturday is a return back to music as Wally B. joins us in the DJ Booth and our special guest for the evening rocks the stage….

Born in Monrovia, Liberia and indigenous to West Africa, Sekajipo Genes arrived in America with his family in the mid 80's, on the brink of Liberian civil war. Residing finally in Tampa, Florida, in the early 90's, he has been influenced by Hip Hop music and culture ever since he could remember. Though he grew up in a Christian home, it wasn't until after graduating high school he gave his life to the Lord and truly began to pursue his love for music and passion for a Christ-like life. In college he attended HCC (Hillsborough Community College) and became a member of IVCF (Inter-varsity Christian Fellowship), an organization lead by students and staff dedicated to ministering on college campuses. Through IVCF and his church home, The Underground Network, he was introduced to a Jesus that not only opened his eyes to the many social injustices plaguing the known world, but also challenged him as a follower of Christ to be an advocate for impossible change in the midst of the struggle.
With the influences of musical revolutionaries such as Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Sade, and Tupac Shakur, he considers himself a pioneer of a new age in grassroots Hip Hop music, a movement in which he describes as "Revolutionary Rap 101". Labeling himself a "Conscious Christian" emcee, his passion is for creating social awareness through spiritually and politically driven music, infused in a foundational gospel message. He is recently in the works of finishing his debut album "Revolution of The Mind-State", which is set for an underground and online release January 2009.
