The Music Anarch-atory doesn?t presuppose the existence of a canonized
body of knowledge which must be transmitted, but creates a space where
students can ask how their own projects/practice/concerns relate to
Ribot's projects and concerns, and to whatever he know about musicians
"around us and before us."
"The subjective, contingent, and changing nature of music gives rise to
the question: What kind of music class can be more than a
rationalization of the (relative) power of the teacher?" Ribot said.
