heloooo everybodeee,
i am grooving on the rain in seattle. it never stops. so depressing and refreshing. however. good things are happening. a kick ass tour coming up this spring and timbales are coming to be added to the set soon. see u soon!!!!!

I'm a big fan of Pacific Northwest rains myself and Seattle is a great place to experience that. I actually don't own an umbrella, that's how much I love the feel of rain on my face!
Anyway, you totally need to come to Lansing MI in the near future (I know you're going to be in Kalamazoo in March, and that isn't that far, but Lansing has way, way better venues) I've been craving some good live music lately!

hi there julie, i was just in michigan last week actually. i was not on tour but helping a friend of mine with her phd dissertation defense at umich. i will indeed be in kalamazoo this march. what venues do you recommend playing at in lansing?

The main venues here are Temple Club and Mac's Bar, but those are bigger and usually more rock or hiphop shows (though the red light lounge in Temple is kinda nice) There are a couple nice cozy venues that are cool - Magdalena's Tea House or Club 505 (the local lesbian bar) would draw a good crowd, and Bare Bones Studio and Creole Gallery are both art spaces that have music shows as well. There's a women's music store, Goldenrod, that would be a good contact for finding spaces (and actually Goldenrod was where I picked up your latest cd)
