ok so i never talk about what i read and watch but thought i might for once

jane eyre, charlotte bronte (this is my all time favorite novel) there is something about jane, her integrity, her passion, her singularity, that appeals to me.

tess of the d'urbervilles, thomas hardy

the french lieutenant's woman, john fowles (this novel reads out -loud incredibly well...like water flowing off a page into a garden of words.

i havent heard any new stuff lately that has rocked me. most of it sounds like style music of the month or some eighties rehash ala new york trendy band of the moment. whatever happened to passion in music????? or romanticism or depth of feeling.

LOVE. THIS.  BOOK.

It wasn't like anything I'd ever read before (not well explained here, maybe at another time) and I read it the year I spent a summer in Russia. On my "bed" in a dingy Moscow hotel. Amazing.

Well I hope you get a chance to listen to The Rasmus cds I gave you. They've been at it for over 11 years now. And they're only 26!

They started out with more of a punk/rap feel but have gone very rock melody. I love stuff at both end of the spectrum.
