The Rocky Mountain Rollergirls' 2007 season started with a bang as RMRG's Red Ridin' Hoods and Sugar Kill Gang took on the Pikes Peak Derby Dames' Candy Snipers and Danger Dolls in a round robin to determine Colorado's best home team. Each team from RMRG played those from PPDD in four 15-minute periods instead of the normal three, and whoever walked away with the most points at the end took home the title. The bout was packed and with the additions of the party bus to give fans a ride to and from the game as well as bleachers to offer more seating, the sellout crowd made it clear that the off-season had left RMRG fans hungry for more action!

These four teams played a similar type of game back in July with the Hoods taking the victory, but the Sugars and the Pikes Peak girls were more than ready to fight for the lead spot this time around. Period one brought the Danger Dolls up against the Hoods, who were playing short with only eight skaters. Even with the girls in red with such a stingy roster, they were still able to gain a sizable lead. Final score: Hoods 33, Dolls 12.

The second period saw completely new skaters on the track with the Sugars taking on the Snipers. The Sugars' were heavy in the jammer department, which was essential for such a point-driven competition. With great skaters like Frida Beater, Ida Hustler and Penny Payne racking up the points, the final score for this match showed an impressive lead with the Sugars at 45, Snipers at 13.

After a brief rest at halftime the Snipers geared up again, this time to take on the Hoods. Each team put up a fight, knowing this was their last chance to gain as many points as possible to walk away with a victory. The Hoods skated away with 34 to the Snipers' 14.

The night came to a close with the Sugars and the Dolls facing off in a final attempt at piling up the points. This match ended with the Sugars at 46, Dolls at 9.

RMRG held up their home turf with the Sugars in first place at 91, the Hoods in second with 67, the Snipers coming in third with 27 and the Dolls' ending with 21. Get ready for a rematch when the Hoods take on The Snipers in a full bout April 7th and the Sugars face the Dolls on October 6th, both at the Bladium!
