Okay I have recorded a song called "a love story". It's not about the best swedish film of all time: "a love story" or "en kärlekshistoria" by the director Roy Andersson. But you should see it.
The song is much more unspecified than that. It's basicly just the frame around a the painting that is love. The colors and patterns of it is for you to fill in. The song describes the emotion of being in love. You feel like shit, and it feels good and you love it.
In this song I have tried to create a rather large gap between the verses and the chorus. The verses are supposed to be more rhytmic and the chorus more floating and legato-like. I think my vision has been quite well realized.
I do not really hold this as one of my best songs but others seem to like it. Maybe it's because of the blunt language being used. But I think it has a good rhytm and I'm quite pleased with the recording and the arrangement. A part of this song is actually made by Fredrik Gunnarsson and he should be credited. His contribution is the melody that the babypiano plays in the verses. It's not exactly the melody that he came up with but it's rather close.
Another person deserving of recognition is of course Nea who sings the girly part in the chorus. I think she is doing an absolutely fabulous job and the song is a LOT better because of her singing. I love the Leigh Nash from sixpence none the richer sort of quality of her tone. You can really hear it at the end of the chorus when it's just her voice and a little guitar.
This is not a new song, it's somewhere between two and one and half years old. But I havent recorded it before. For some reason.
The instruments being played on this song is (in order of appearence): Acoustic guitar. Electric piano (the bass part). Egg-shaker. Banana-shaker. Babypiano. Me singing. Triangle. Organ. Nea singing.
Hope you like it.
