Well, it has been nearly a year since the last blog update. Sorry *looks down at feet*. In that time, we have done a multitude of gigs, to a whole bunch of lovely new people, in some fine new places, and it has been busy and great fun. Then there was another band baby (just to one of us, it's not like we join together in a gelatinous mass and excrete them like amoeba) and new homes to deal with, so we took a couple of months off to recharge, reset and regroup.
We also got one of our songs, 'Interesting People', featured on the soundtrack of a teen slasher movie called Expiry Date, about a cursed and demonic credit card (trailer at www.expirydate.co.uk). Worth a look, especially when the bloke gets eaten alive by the armchair. We got to applaud this very scene (and nudge each other and grin like drunk lords) during the premiere of the film on 10th November '06. A fine moment :)
So while we appear to have been a little lazy, we've actually been rather busy. We've got some ripping new tunes and some very grand ideas and plans for the coming year. See? We're not a bunch of slackers like you thought (shame on you!)…
We begin 2007 with two gigs:
12th January @ Callaghans in Cardiff. We will be playing with Cosmo, Mr & Mrs Clark, and the legendary outsider musician (ie busker), Toy Mic Trevor.
19th January @ Tommy's Bar, UWIC Howard Gardens. We're making a return trip to a venue where we played an absolute stormer back in May '06. We're looking forward to this one, especially as we'll be joined by an old friend of ours, a very fine singer/songwriter from Birmingham called Ben Calvert: http://www.myspace.com/bencalvertmusic
And for the rest of the year? Well, we don't want to pop champagne corks over chickens before they've hatched, but we are doing a video shoot for a new ITV1 Wales show called "Unsigned", which will be broadcasting at midnight on Thursdays from the 4th January. This programme should be available on Cable. Check with your supplier, and we will prod you when our slot will be shown.
After that… all sorts of things, gigs, plans n' scams are being engineered… we will let you know.
Our New Year's resolution is therefore to keep this blog updated.
We will see you on our travels. Wear your hats and look cool, people.
