In Flight Movie (Leeds)
Oh my. Only very very occasionally does one hear a demo and instantly cry out "Yes! More!" (well actually, I've never done that, I've actually lied to help make my point. Anyway, onwards.). One of the few times this happened (or might have happened, were I that way inclined) was upon hearing the demo by InFlightMovie. Golly it's good.
Instantly a problem is thrown up in front of us. How does one describe this bizarre mix? Why, those almost ethereally pleasant moments give way to a wonderful cacophony of noise quicker than a local journalist changes his mind when offered free beer (again, this doesn't really happen). This is almost certainly post-something or other, you can probably chuck in that ever vague 'leftfield', the helpfully vacuous 'experimental' and the brilliantly indistinct 'avant garde', and still fail to make people see that this is good. For the record, you might say that this sounds like Coldplay, were they to release a record on Anticon. Not that that makes anything any clearer really.
