Okay the bunny didn't show him time travel he had the ability on his own but the Universe is becoming so unstable that his "fourth demention sense"
And in the book he read it said "If a Tangent Universe occurs, it will be highly unstable, sustaining itself for no longer than several weeks." and him being "the reciever" knows this now that the world is comong to an end.
Frank "the bunny" is really Donnie's sister's boyfriend. Thats why he had the bunny costume on because thats how he died.
And in the book it said "The Manipulated Dead are more powerful than the Living Receiver. If a person dies within the Tangent Dimension, they are able to contact the Living Receiver through the Fourth Dimensional Construct."
Since Donnie killed Frank he is the "Manipulated Dead" and had contacted Donnie in the 4th demention to make things right.
If it wasn't for Donnie killing Frank he would have never even existed.
Also if you notice Frank is actually in the movie quite a bit but not as the bunny.
Before the jet engine crashed into Donnie's room there's a horn honk, it's his sister's boyfriend Frank honking the horn which is why she come's in the house. Anyways.. the horn causes Donnie to wake up and sleep walk, since in the future Frank is dead he can contact him which he does but it was the present Frank that woke him up in actuallity.
He also passes by Donnie in his car when Donnie is riding his bike and he does the beer run.
So yeah back to the rest....
So the beginning when the engine crashes through anD Donnies not there is a form of curruption; trying to destoy the "reciever" which if succedded would have caused the downfall of the universe, but he survived and the world is still coming to an end but the reciever can change it if he chooses and he creates and sort of wormhole{like him and his teacher were talking about) so the second time in the movie with the jet engine it has a reason for appearing which is end curruption and save the universe.
And if you remember when Gretchen says "What kinda name is Donnie Darko, it sounds like a super hero" well that was a point kinda saying he was a superhero but not an actual one.
So everything happened for a reason....

hahaha ok.. i know that.. when i watched it and posted it i was completely blazed.. ok then i watched it again. sober.. and caught on to all that stuff.. man.. ur explaining it how i would.. hmm... but dont u think... being who i am.. that even though i didnt post the correction... i knew all that...?... cuz i do.. i just didnt want to take the time to correct my highness..lol.
