The common complaint of Israel political leaders for half a century was failure on the part of a Palestinian leader to emerge who was willing to recognize Israel and to work for peace. President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority has indicated he is wiling to recognize Israel and negotiate in order to achieve lasting peace. So, what happens. Now, Israel has a government which does not want to honestly negotiate with Israel. Abbas recently noted when he tried discussing issues with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he was told words to this effect: Palestinians must accept the presence of Jews in the West Bank which belongs to Palestine, they must accept that east Jerusalem will be controlled by Israel rather than serving as a capital of a Palestinian state, Israel will not discuss the return of Palestinian refugees, Israel will control the Palestinian armed forces and control the skies over Palestine. Palestinian can have the rest. Oh, I forgot, Israel will determine who gets what water.
One Palestinian leader has reached the point of complete disgust. He now suggests, allow Israel to take over Palestine and make Muslim Israeli citizens. Given the birth rate difference, within twenty years there will be more Muslim voters in Israel than Jews and the Muslims can take over.
To be blunt, Israelis have now become like the Muslims who refused to negotiate with Israel. Israel has met the enemy and he is them. Obama has been playing games and switching from one position to another. For months he supported Palestinian demands that no negotiations could take place until Israel agreed to halt building any further settlements in the West Bank, then two weeks ago, he said, forget about the settlements and let's sit down and negotiate. Then Hillary Clinton praised Israel for being flexible when PM Netanyahu said he would consider halting construction later. Her comments aroused a storm in the Middle East and then Clinton said she really wants an end to settlements.
It increasingly becomes apparent Obama can't stop trying to please everyone which leads everyone to get angry at him. TAKE A DAMN STAND TO HALT FURTHER WEST BANK SETTLEMENT AND LET ISRAEL LKNOW UNLESS THEY STOP --NOW-- ALL AID TO ISRAEL WILL CEASE!!
