embarassing bootsy 101 ahem
punk rock has generally been missing something as of late and that is the k
despite many old bands returning for more tours and shows truly the medium of loud fast simple has changed in the face of a new generation of kids with a new generation of social pathogens music can never be contained and especially music that forces itself to evolve or perish into obscure yet imfamous memory
within the state and city the bounds of punk have run rough on the veins that bore anarcho punk, hardcore, street, and thrash
genres coming together as something more angry and energized but stubborn and oppressive in its own inability to expand
crust punk and grindcore are punk rock without the ventilation the clash without reggae the cramps without rockabilly the ramones without 60s pop crass without the anthems of personal self expression and not simply taking ideas (even punk) as dogma
punk rock is not dogma
music should not be boxed in by its morals just as straight edge borders on hypocracy crust dances a line that cannot ever diversify
there is now a fear to dance and to really no longer recognize those who would look down upon you in your actions
rising from the fuming wreckage of just another crust band is a forgotten relic of the early spirit of punk with no political core and no silver tongue johnny clotheshanger and the antibabies is putting the k back into punx they are leaving the stage to strangle the tame and standing scene kicking up mud in a stagnant river bed
this is generation x and black flag its stiff little fingers and DRI and its not afraid to dance not afraid to say something to the masses and have the masses say no in reply an oasis in a desert of patches and dreadlocks the band is proudly outdoing its bretheran by saying what ever it fucking wants to
and if that isnt teh punx I dont know what is
johnny (also known as bootsy and occasionally Dr. Fancy Pants ), Frank , Prof. Cork ,and Caleb have no flags to carry beyond those of returning punk to greater glory this says more about the strength of the bands message than a hundred slogans could
by not giving a shit the band is never burdened by the sheep, but only expanding in directions it pleases
with no wholesome leanings on either plane im fully expecting the band to stomp all over your face and inspire punk to be a presence and not just an ingredient within Providence
also you might slamdance instead of moshing
thank you kindly - shane
note as I'm writing this I'm listening to depeche mode aint life funny
