Fear The Void That Creeps Into Your Mind. Typically I've found I associate memory with a physical object. Discovering those memories as I go through old boxes reminds me why I keep the junk in the first place! Photos begat smiles or a complicated convolution of heartache. They are art. This danse macabre of forgotten memories places the great burden of TIME upon one's soul. In their simple existence, they validate twenty nine years of Brandon.
Burning Down Bridges As I stare down at my hands and listen to the sound of conversation and air conditioning I'm reminded of memories discarded. Over time, we forget faces... we forget beauty... we forget the travels that brought us to the here and now. Even grander are the destructive tendencies of forced removal! Staring at the memory on the other side of this infinite chasm, we sever the ties for the greater good. To survive? To grow?
Yet even in our infinite wisdom and strength, the memory still manages to reveal itself from time to time. One can either be haunted by it.... to make humor of it... or to learn from the experience and avoid making the same mistake twice.
This is what makes us human. Adorably sentient. Alive!
Forever and Never, ~Brandon
