This is a Review for our show at Broken City in Calgary, AB on Sep. 19 where we opened for alt-country band, CUFF THE DUKE, and Arts&Crafts band, ZEUS...the review is taken from New Canadian Modern, this is the link...

The opening act was The Rough Sea, an adorable stripped-down folk duo from Ottawa.  With just a guitars, a ukulele, and a banjo, these two soft spoken dreamers sang songs about cold winter months, the devil, and love.  Christina and Justin make up The Rough Sea, mixing their soulful versus gritty vocals creating a beautiful composition that comes across as half-gypsy lullabyes, half-surfer melodies.  I think the sweetest thing about The Rough Sea is their absolute candor and nervousness upon addressing the audience.  They were actually blown away by how many people were there and admitted to being a little bit shaky opening up the show.  They didn’t need be.  Everyone was blown away by this little band and it appears as though everyone in the other towns they’ve toured to thought so as well — they were down to only 9 CDs by this show with still a long way to go on the tour.

TUNDRA PUNKS

Anyone who has seen these 2 will love them. After having the absolute pleasure of not only seeing them but having them play for us (the Tundra Punks) up in Whitehorse Yukon and Attlin BC they have re affirmed my faith in people to the point they ended up on our floor for 2+ weeks. Their songs leave me longing for the highway, adventure and to look to the stars and dream. Cant wait to see them again. Thank you for everything... The Tundra Punks!
