I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where Eddie is and how he is doing. I know you read my bulletin and are aware that he is in Northern California for 2 weeks fighting the fires. His department sent the new strike team out yesterday to replace the team that had been there for 2 weeks. Thank you to those of you who have sent kind and encouraging thoughts...I appreciate it. His base camp is about 15 miles south of Monterey, and about 1/2 mile from the fires (I think thats awfully close...I guess the winds shifted). There are MANY fires there, and he will be on the "Basin Fire". To see updated information about the California Wildfires, (including containment, damage etc) you can go to

The last text I got from him was that the crews were switched out and he was going to be on the line this morning.

The kids are doing well so far, Zach is being the "man" of the house, so I am being well taken care of!
