twas the best of years , twas the worst of years .
small change n growth ,and loss .
brand new dynamics ,bring hopefulness and fear .
to cajole us all, like hamlins mice,
to follow blindly or change a gear

almost a year of blogs behind .I have to say i truly enjoyed em , Not sure if i will do a monthly one next year ,might do a short story instead ,open for suggestions ,might do a thesis on the rise n fall
of the P Ds, NAH! i am up to me follicles with politics

got a new mental sat nav in my head for o9 ,my recording studio [sheebeen na gig} should be up n running in a bout two weeks and i have a headful of songs to hatch , Got a sunday gig in Tom mulligans Cobble stone, Twill be good to harry out again.

and harry walks these streets of smoke
and welcomes home the refugee
no christmas pressies just boughs of holly
heart to heart , just glad your here
chorus
and fair , play to ya harry
rise up from the underground
and call, call on the heroes
rise up ,rise up tis time ,tis time

a brillo new tinga ling to yez all
, peter

They say Pete " When we give voice to our grivances ! Its a way of licking our wounds ? But what about the way they { The greedy power hungry Leaders world wide } still try to insult our intelligence?.

Its hard to forget and even harder to lick.. Were gonna be a long ole time healing the wounds.

May you and yours have a joyus and wonderful 2009..

Lena.

He was a rare fella twas harry
For many a burden he'd carry
And whatever they threw
At our Harry they knew
With stars in his eyes he would tarry.

....and many more years to all the Harrys and Harriets out there.

All the best with the New Year and the studio Pete.

High chimes and low notes for the past year for me, great for 11 months, tough for one, not a bad average but timing is everything.

The highs were returning to Ireland for two weeks to be with family-Dublin, Carlow, Limerick, interviewing Peter Moore, taking the Dublin train. Back in California, the highs were the Raggamuffin festival in Long Beach in February, having two radio shows from June - December, working for Super D the music distribution co., interviewing musicians for the company's weekly trade publication, plus shared time with family, getting started on myspace with new and old friends, going to shows.

The lows were December 11th and being laid off with nine other people. Then insult to injury, having a program person at the college station slap a penalty on me on Dec. 29th for the winter quarter of the radio station by reducing my three hours of radio time to one, thus suspending the two hour Irish program because two of my past Record Store Memories guests selected a song by popular artists (Steely Dan, The Beatles) as part of their music timeline of their life. But fighting Irish is speaking up to save the Irish show in lieu of a hiatus for Record Store Memories. You can check out the past shows at www.archive.org.

All in all, I have my health & strength. A roof over my head, and hopefully a dole check in the mail till the winds of change improve. Hurry on Harry and sing to the listeners of the lights among the gloom. Rock on 2009. God bless.
