Hey people what's going down? some minutes have passed on since I have posted any updates on the happenings in .Dotbleep land due to the past few weeks being occupied with countless moments of me plugging my head into the master controls of the studio gear and making audio photographs of the conversations we are having. The next few projects are set for mix down and mastering and I will be back with updates on those scheduled projects very soon!
I have arrived here today on a Paul Revere trip to touch upon the release of Kink's Don't Hold Back project on .Dotbleep that was released for sale to the public today on beatport.
It has been a long moment in time since I have had a proper acid house project move me since the glory days of the late 80,s and early 90's there has been many that have came close to the mark but there was always something that was missing the authentic blue ribbon quality of that old Chicago sound that has molested many of our minds in small dark warehouses across the world!
After a listen to this demo a message in a bottle was sent across the seas and .Dotbleep became the quarters for this 3 track monster!
here are the notes about the tunes that I sent out with the promo .
Don’t Hold Back is a Andy Warholish rendition of a jack track as if Andy was behind a proper analog studio and not a screen print. Taking the essence of the original but adding to it new colors that bring new life to its archetype. This tune here is the match in the middle of a riot that is looking for fuel to ignite the fire!
Lift It Up is something a little bit on the modern front and is the soundtrack for a scene in a acid house horror film right when the moment strikes that you thought it was safe to take a break to catch a breath you may find that within seconds the knife wielding maniac is not far behind in the dark forest. Full of stop and start madness the chase never ends or does it?
Shockwaves is what acid house is all about this tune is like an episode of this old track where Kink has refined the classic to modern standards while leaving all of its natural roots and foundations in place. Its like Dr. Who went to parallel Chicago where the warehouse party days never ended!
already seeing massive support from Richie Hawtin, Audio Soul Project, Derrick Carter, Luciano, Dj Heather, Jay Haze, Josh Werner, Abe Duque, Florian Kruse, Shady Tvo, Traxx Justin Martin and Heidi
it is just proof that acid house still is the medicine for all us deranged music junkies!
Here is a youtube of Justin and Heidi burning down the house with Don't Hold Back at Exit Festival
