I don't care what people say about Raul's performance. But I do care if it was good. The only thing is that the cuteness of an actor's performance SHOULD win a Tony. I mean, think of how hurt David Hyde Pierce would be if he didn't even win a Tony award, ok? Think of how tears of sadness would build in his eyes if nobody voted for him? I myself am in the theater and I know how cute he is in Curtains.
Yeah. This is the time when I have to speak my mind about my sweet friend David. Raul gave a miserable performance as Bobby in Company, but David...he was so cute in Curtains that he deserved it! I mean, he couldn't be nominated for Spamalot and didn't win which I was totally sad about, so why shouldn't he win this year? I was so upset when I heard bad things about him when he won on the BroadwayWorld.com message boards, that I actually did feel the need to speak my mind. So what if Raul didn't win?! I wanted David to win more than anything! I mean, David just spreads so much sunshine when on that stage of the Al Hirshfeld Theater. His performance in Curtains was cuter than Raul's in Company, even though Bobby is supposed to be funny when he does his lines. So, why bother hating David for winning the Tony? He's so cute as Cioffi that it makes me tingle and squeak and speak in a REALLY high-pitched voice.
I'm happy for David that he won. As for those people who aren't happy for him, GROW UP. And cute and loving should DEFINITELY win the Tony, ya retards!
