Now to the shows!
Last weekend was a gud'un.  The Nerak Roth Patterson Band had the place goin' with some energetic party music.  Nerak is quite a personality, singer and guitar player and his band was tight. Good folks, too. They kept the dance floor movin' all night.

We have a new band and a unique act this coming weekend.  Newcomer Roth Patterson will turn some heads

The Nerak Roth Patterson Band makes its first BBC appearance on Friday, June 27.
This four piece unit from Ohio is fronted by Nerak ("Ner-ick") Roth Patterson, a triple threat guitarist, singer and songwriter  The band is not well known outside the Midwest but I suspect it won't be long before the Blues world embraces their sound.  I receive a lot of cd's and promo packs from bands
trying to expand their horizons.  Many are good, most are fair and some are simply outstanding.  Roth's most recent cd, "Brown Angel", immediately caught my ear.  It contains twelve original songs that range from standard 12 bar Blues shuffles, to Blues infused Reggae, hip shakin' funky tunes, classic Chicago
Blues and solid contemporary guitar induced Blues for the 21st century.  Roth plays a Gibson ES 335 hollow body that he uses to produce a fat, string bending, gutbucket tone.  Clear, clean and sharp with a hint of BB King's single note attack. Roth has a soulful, rich voice that at times emulates Kenny Neal and at others a  whiskey soaked throaty growl.  He's backed up journeymen Blues players Forrest Williams, Dale Hughes on percussion and backup vocals, and Eddie Brookshire (a professor of jazz instruction) on bass. Quite an ensemble that we are proud to introduce to the area's music afficianados.  More, including music and video, at www.myspace.com/nerakrothpattersonband.  Advance tickets are only $10 at www.bradfordvilleblues.com, and for students and members of any Blues
organization.  Day of show tickets are $12. Smoking is ok for this show.
