Current mood:  bouncy

Hi ya'll,

Well first we must go back..to the start of the week.

As you may know, Mike Unger has been filling in some shows with us and as of now we have officially played two shows and maybe completed about two hours of practice...with acoustics and me making bass noise with my throat since i dont have a acoustic bass yet...(i do mean yet..i will have one soon!) On top of getting used to a new player and making sure everything has the right vibe..we have added atleast 8 new songs..maybe more and thats on top of Mike basically learning all of our songs. All i can say is its been awesome! Mike is very confident and has no problem walking on stage and playing a song we have never played before. Up till now thats been our biggest fear but you know what? They rocked. Everyone took the time at home and we came in and played them like we have been practicing for awhile. Im not saying mistake free but damn close enough and there is a new energy. I go to rock out and thump the bass and i look over and Mike is right there with me.The dude can smoke most guitar players that i know but has the free spirit to crack a smile and just have fun..I love it. It brings a presence and a energy that The Ewe havent seen in along time. Were starting to get our swagger back. I felt fearless and i felt like we deserved to be there. We have put in our time and paid our dues and i look up at the stage and i see thousands of dollars of equipment sitting there and im like damn right we deserve to be here! We practice when everyone is out mowing there lawns, we practice when everyone else is watching their favorite show on the tube , we give up invites to friends and families, we hangout in bars trying to get new shows...we support other bands, hand out cards, buy posters, put up web pages, put out demos, promote three or four nights a week and we spend our hard earned money on the best equipment we can buy ..damn right were playing here! Damn right were playing Put in Bay too..cuz you dont play these places without doing all these other things that i mentioned. The only reason i say this...is we always feel like we have outkicked our coverage...I know handfulls of better muscians but i only know a few that work at this as hard as we do and the ones that do are already playing the best places cuz they...get it.No posters, business cards, demos, websites, no hard work = no Flanniganns and Put in Bay. So yes it felt really good to play Flannagans and it felt even better when the manager gave us a future list of dates to play after the show.We worked hard, did our job, promoted and you answered!

Now as for you...

We asked and we begged our friends and fans for support. You totally came thru for us...At 9pm when they started checking the door, we had 170 people come thru. Thats ontop of a already pretty full bar that got there early. The manager wanted 200 people and i would say she got 300..easy. Thank you to everyone that came out and to Bipolar Discount..they brought a very nice crowd of their own! We had fun, the crowd had fun..everyone was happy. Thats what its all about right? We do this for fun and everyone that comes to a show..just wants to have fun...So Thank you! You sealed our fate and we will back back at Flannagans many times this coming year!

Now on a side note....You know how you can tell im a single guy with two boys living with me? I just walked across the  room and got a very large fish hook stuck in my foot...you normally dont get that if you have a women in your house!

Well good nite everyone..its 11:34 pm and i have an hour left of practice before i get up for work at 6am!

See ya at Captain Woodys!
