Hello from Yokohama, Japan...

I happened to see the NHK documentary about your father (and you) last night, and just wanted to wish you all the best in your endeavors to continue delivering your father's very valid message.

This week is probably an emotional one for you and your family, with the one year anniversary of your father's passing, alongside the anniversaries of both A-bombs.

At the same time, we're just about to get into the Beijing 2008 Olympics (less than 30mins to go over here), which I am truly hoping will be what it is *supposed* to be - namely, a peaceful event.

Best wishes, and peace.

Hello (also from Yokohama!)

It is August 9 in Japan, and the 63rd anniversary memorial was held in Nagasaki City.

Some 5400 people attended the ceremony, and prayed for those who had
lost their lives 63 years ago today and since then.
(145,984 people)

I also light a candle in memory of your father today.

Please keep on sending the message for all of us.

And please let us know if we can help you in any way.

Best regards.

The words of Joe O'donell in the NHK clip reminds me of what an American writer, James Baldwin, said in his "Notes of a Native Son." Baldwin writes in its introduction, "I love America more than any other country in the world, and, exactly fo this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually." Joe must have had a similar feeling.
