Current mood: savage
Hello luverlies Just a wee update for you all...
So yeah like you know I broke my shoulder and stuff. At the weekend just there I went down to London to perform at the Red Stripe Awards. How could I do this pray tell you ask? With a broken left shoulder?? And virtually no movement in my left arm to play a guitar with??? Simple - I put my guitar parts on a laptop. Then I plugged my laptop in and sang the whole set sitting down with a sling on. It was a very catchy look. Here's a review of the gig:
First on was Scottish singer songwriter, Jono. All the way from Glasgow and with one of his wings seriously clipped following a skiing accident, managed to pull off a mesmerizing set. Playing a number of tracks from his first solo album "Sentimental Anarchist", Jono cooked up series of infectious voice and melodic acoustic songs.
I went to see my surgeon today. It will take a year for me to be back to normal.
By back to normal, I mean nearly back to normal, because that means a year before I can pretty much forget I ever had such a terrible shoulder injury. I will be able to do most things I could before without noticing any difference or worrying about hurting myself any more.
By nearly back to normal, I mean almost nearly back to normal, because I will never be 100% again. In fact it would be dangerous for me to have 100% flexibility in my arm, as if I had all my flexibility back I would be dislocating my shoulder here and there and everywhere. Ok a slight exagerration, but a little bit of restriction will stop my shoulder popping out when I try and move it to shoulder socket extreme positions. Lets make a movie.
By almost nearly back to normal, I mean not really almost nearly back to normal, because as you can see by the shape of this blog, I seem to be a few hoolas short of a hoop.
Love, Jono
