I had a dream a few nights ago and I'd like to share it with yall. I call it The Great Escape

     I was taking a walk down the old dirty highway in Newelton, LA. I got about half way down the road when I passed by a mansion. The guy who owned the mansion asked me if I was in need of a job, and if I had a sister or brother in need of one too. I told him yes. He told me he would hire me if I told my parents that he wanted me to work there.

"Mom! Dad! I got a new job offer today." I yelled as I rushed in the door. " Where at?" Mom asked. I told her about the mansion and the owner of the place who wanted me and Destiny to have a job. They said yes. So after they said yes I got some clothes on that would keep me cool cause it was hot out.

So we walked over to the mansion and started work. It was 6:00 pm and time to stop work. We were just about to walk out of the gate when the guards at the gate grabbed my arm and Destiny's arm too. " Where do you think you're going?" He asked. " It's quitting time! DUH! Now let us go!" I said. But instead they just threw us in a basement.

 For 3 long days we worked in the garden. Hardly nothing to eat. Destiny kept getting real tired and nearly falling asleep, while working in the garden. "Wakeup or it's 10 lashes cross your back!" He yelled at her. I got angry and yelled at the guard. " What did you say?!" He asked angrily. "I said to leave my sister alone. She is week and tired and she hasn't eaten. Now leave her alone." I said as I was pulling weeds from the garden. " That 10 lashes cross your back for you!" He said as he pulled out his whip. " GO AHEAD!" I yelled. I showed no fear. Then after I said that the guards took me over to a post near a fence and lashed my back.

"Where could our girls be? I hope they're alright." MY mother sobbed on my dad's shoulder. "They've been missing for days now." She said. " I wish I knew where they could be mom." Said John- Andrew trying to comfort my mom.

 I was up all night that night thinking about how to escape. There was a small window but it was too high up. for us to jump onto the window seal. There was a wooden crate, a stool, and 2 sheets. SO I had a plan. I looked at Destiny but she was asleep. I woke her up and told her about what we were gonna do.

So I put the stool in front of the window then put the crate on top of the stool. While Destiny was resting I took the sheets and ripped them then tied them together to make a long rope to throw out of the window. I knew excactly where to go cause there was no fence. The corn field. So I tested everything out. I wanted Destiny to go first because she was younger and cause I am older I wanted her to be s safe as possible at this time. So I told her what we were going to do. " Ok, Destiny, I'm going to climb up the stool and crate, climb up into the window seal and then you are going to do the same thing." I told her. So I climbed up nd got into the window sel then she climbed up. There was enough room for the both of us to sit in that window seal. The window had been busted out a while back and all that stood across the window seal was a medal bar. I tied the sheets to the bar going across the window. and told Destiny to go down first. So she went. I went right after her. "We have to go through the corn field." I said. Crying and scared Destiny said," But what if we get caught? What if a bear or a snake tries to kill us?" I told her not to worry and just to pray. We went running through the corn field, then we saw an old run down house. Destiny was tired nd sore from ll the running. "We'll rest in the house." I told her. I gave her my jacket aas a blanket.

It was morning and I heard a voice say," I can't seem to find them anywhere. I have looked everywhere for them." I woke Destiny up nd told her to sneek out the back doorway carefully and quietly. I let her go infront of me we snuck out into the cornfield. We crawled for a little while so the person couldn't see us. We then got up and ran after about 10 or 15 minutes. "Look a fence!" I whispered. "Destiny run and jump over that fence." I told her. She did so. "They're over there!" I heard the voice of the guard yell. They started running their horses toward us. "RUN DESTINY RUN!" I yelled. She made it over the fence. As I was about to jump My shirt got caught onto the old rusted bobwire fence. "Destiny run home! Call the cops! You're cleaver you'll be able to escape!" She ran and ran and ran. They stopped and there I was standing on the ground with my shirt caught to the fence. "I knew you'd never escape." The guard said. So they untangled my shirt and tied my hands together. They tied a rope around my waist so I wouldn't escape. We got back to the mansion and the so called "Master" was furious with me.

"You know not to try to escape! You will go without food and water for 3 days. You will be taken to the post and will be lashed 30 times." He said, as the guards drug me away to the post.

Destiny finally found a way around the mansion and was able to get home. "DESTINY!" Mom and dad yelled in tears of excitement. "I'm so happy to be home! BUT we need to call the cops." She said as she was trying to catch her breath. "Where's your sister at?!" They asked. "She had to stay behind. Her shirt got caught onto a bobwire fence out it a giant corn field behind the mansion. Probably about 5 to 10 miles out in the corn field. The guard got her before she could escape. She told me to go and call the cops." So after Destiny got inside and cooled down she began to tell mom and dad about what happened. They were amazed. SO they called the cops and that night around 1:00 am the cops came. They snuck around the mansion. They sw me but they couldn't get to me cause of the electric fence around the land. They had just put it up so I wouldn't escape again. But the police used a special pair of pliars to get through the fence. They saw me at the post untied me and helped me through the hole in the fence. They sw the lash marks on my back. They sent me to the hospital to get it checked out.

I got to the hospital and saw mom and dad waiting to see me. I was never so hppy to see them in my life. "The owner of the mansion is going to have a rude awakening in the morning." The police said. "Why did he do this, Lydia?" "He wanted to prove that he is powerful and he wanted slaves. Destiny and I were the only children there. But there are several other people who needs to be released." "What is the name of the mansion owner?" The cop said as he brang me a bottled water. "Mr. Jake Mcgee, is the owner's name." The next morning I hid in the police car so the guard at the gate wouldn't recognize me. I was even surprised that the guard didn't try to turn the cops away. We got out of the vehicle and broke the door down and ran into Mr. Jake Mcgee's room."Put your hands up!" The cops all had their guns out pointing toward him. "Remember me?" I asked. "I though they'd never find you." He said. "Cut the crap!" I yelled." They know everything. I helped my sister escape so I could escape. You are now under arrest Mr. Jake Mcgee." He was taken away after I said that. "Come with me I'll show yall where the other slaves are." I led them to the tower where my sister and I had to sleep. I grabbed the key that opens all the cells except the one Destiny and I had to sleep in. EVerybody was releaved to be able to finally leve and go back home to their families. Mr. Mcgee was sent away to prison for the rest of his life. We got to take over the mansion, take down the electric fence, and tear down the bloody post and tower. Destiny nd I becme heros. Everybody was happy except for Mr. Mcgee who had reeped what he had sewn. He will never be able to hurt anyone like that ever again.
