Rhythm & Booze Fanzine
The Buck Brothers are a London-based three-piece who first formed back
in 2006, since their formation the band have played their infectious
blend of punky new-wave indie rock across the UK, Europe and the US, as
well as finding time for a quick jaunt to Russia (to support Primal
Scream no less). The band have racked up a vast number of high profile
gigs, sharing bills with the likes of The Futureheads, The Buzzcocks
and a UK tour with Goldfinger among others.
Back in 2007 the
band managed to breach the CMJ Top 200 National Chart in the US with
their debut single Me and the group are hoping to make further inroads
into the American market as well as breaking their native UK with When
I Look At You (All I Think About Is Sex) and their forthcoming
full-length album We Are Merely Filters.
As singles go When I
Look At You is something of a humdinger, it begins with a bit of
strummed acoustic guitar and melodic crooning before developing into a
rousing sing-a-long new-wave classic, complete with huge hooks, spiky
guitars and an instantly memorable chorus that'll have you humming for
days.
When I Look At You is a fantastic prelude to the album,
it's a short, sharp, snappy track that straddles the divide of indie,
punk and pop, leaving you desperate to hear more.

Buck Brothers ‘when I look at you (all I think about is sex)’ (back2forward).
Indeed
a sentiment I can clearly associate with given that once upon a time I
did indeed sit opposite a rather fine looking specimen of the female
kind when I worked up in la Liverpool who sent my chemical indicators
into scramble and had me skipping beats each and every time I saw her.
Alas that was then and this is now.
Previously unknown to us
Buck Brothers who number three in the ranks have already been setting
alight various turntables belonging to the more in tuned record buying
cognoscenti by way of their 2007 debut full length ’me’. two years on
and having raided the hooks and melodies armaments stores and nailed
said accoutrements into a soon to be released follow up set entitled
’we are merely filters’ that’s certain to sizzle speakers and have you
all a gasping and a swooning between bouts of bopping your asses off.
Warning
shot of what’s to come arrives in the shape of ’when I look at you (all
I think about is sex)’ a seismic 3.21 slice of unadulterated head
turning ears twanging powder keg pop, pristinely honed and awash with a
drill fizzing charge replete and bulging with zig-zagging slashing
riffs and decoded with a deeply arresting and infectious preying strut
laced acuteness that frankly is way too irresistible for its own good,
reference wise - well to be fair it sounds to us like a wired and
prowling Ned’s Atomic Dustbin on heat, nevertheless by far the sexiest
thing in our gaff at the moment if of course you don’t count me.

Up-Load (UK)When I Look At You(All I think about is sex)' begins
with vocals that remind you of The Proclaimers with a backing track
that seems to have its roots in the Ska punk sound of bouncy rhythmic
guitars with a pumping repetitive beat, that makes you want to bop
around the room.
The lyrics are easy to
learn and it is the type of track that sticks in your head, especially
when you think about what the song is all about, basically a man’s
favourite subject!
These London boys
certainly seem to want the listener to have fun with their music and
obviously don’t want to be viewed as a serious rock band, which is very
refreshing these days. They have unusual song titles and an Old School
Punk approach to their sound, which combines to give you a fun packed
listening experience.
Take a listen to their music on Myspace http://www.myspace.com/buckbrothers and you will see that they have the talent to be diverse in the sound they deliver with a high ability to make you smile.
I think we will be hearing a lot more from these guys.

Smash Music (UK)
British three piece Buck Brothers return with the cheekily titled ‘When I look At You (All I Think About is Sex)’.
Drawing
inspiration from the punk rock vocal styling’s of the early Eighties
(The Buzzcocks spring immediately to mind) and the guitar backdrop of
modern day pop punk, Buck Brothers offer us a fun little number. Whilst
not the declaration of seedy perversion the title may suggest, it’s
instead playfully tongue-in-cheek and incredibly catchy.
O.K, ‘When I look At You…’
is never going to smash into the top ten, but it doesn’t need to. While
other bands take themselves a bit too seriously, the trio are simply up
for a laugh, which shines through with this example. So, enjoy the
lighter side of music, courteousy of the care-free punk rock ethics of
a band not out for anything other than a good time.

Burnout Music Fanzine
A cunning blend of New Wave and modern indie rock, London band Buck Brothers have a sound that's difficult to dislike which is probably why their quest for world dominatino is already taking hold with regular US College Radio airplay and extensive touring in both Europe and America. "When I Look At You..." is a spiky hormone charged ditty coming across all "Orgasm Addict" with pop sensibilities.
