I thought I'd write little blogs about my songs, so I'm starting with "Plastic Spiders".

I watch my own children interact with the opposite sex and I can see how awkward it is for them. It makes me smile because I can remember that feeling from when I was in school... For some reason, at a certain age the opposite sex becomes an alien specie with which we have to learn to communicate. They get all shy, and smile in a funny - hold it back sort of way, they avoid eye contact, sometimes they will say Hi at uber speed and so quietly you can barely hear it. Once they get comfortable, they start to tease and be completely silly (Which is the case with my husband as well as my children). All of this brought me to writing "Plastic Spiders", the title came from a little plastic spider that one of my kids dropped in a river but that's another story....
