Current mood:  excited
It's been a great week in Utah at Sundance. It's been lovely to see a lot of films here this week, to meet emerging filmmakers and actors, that's really what this festival is all about. I've become a fan of a few directors and actors in particular and it's always exciting to meet people whom you admire and who are so talented. The "DARE" premiere was exciting and the film has gotten an extremely warm response from audiences, which is really thrilling. It's been great to be back with the cast and crew, celebrating and reconnecting. We all became incredibly close on-set, as the subject matter was pretty intense and our living spaces were pretty close quarters. We became like a big functional family. Today we got to screen for almost 1300 people at the Eccles theater, which is the biggest theater here at Sundance. That's where we got to premiere "Songcatcher" when we were here with that film in 2000. We've been doing Q&As after the movie with the audience, that's been the most interesting part, hearing their feedback and their questions... a little intimidating when there are 1300 people with questions, but I think we handled it ok! It's been wonderful to hear their questions about our characters and to see how connected the audience really was with the 3 stories. Anyway, if you want to, you can check out darethemovie.com and sign up for updates.

Here are two pics from the Q&A after the screening today

Also posting a quick video a made on my flip at the theater right before the lights went down...

I hope you've had fun!

It is so great seeing your post so we can pretend to be in the audience at Sundance, too. The video was terrific! Film festivals are so much fun.
Do you have any audio of the Q&A? So when are you going to be interviewed by James Lipton? :)) That should be next!

It must've been awesome to be back in the same theater you premiered Songcatcher in. That was a very good movie, and you were awesome in it! I hope to see Dare someday.
The reviews all seem to be awesome, and it looks like you had a lot of fun at Sundance!

Glad to hear you're having a blast at Sundance! Every year I see the photos from the film festival, it looks like so much fun. It must've been really cool to have had "Dare" screen at the same theatre where "Songcatcher" premiered. I love that movie, by the way. You were amazing in it! :) I really hope "Dare" gets a distributor so that we can see it on the big screen.
Have fun during the last few days of Sundance and have a great weekend!

Beautiful photos, by the way.

Hi Emmy! Sundance sounds like so much fun! I'd love to be able to do that.
:) Hey, have you done anymore on your YouTube channel lately? I love the q&a you did before, that was really awesome! Hope you have a great weekend, stay safe and God bless you!
Love, Emily
PS) I am happy to report that both my 4 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son are starting to sing your songs! I was listening to it in the car the other day, and when Slow Me Down came on, both of them started singing right along with it! :)

You look absolutley fabulous! And I agree, answering questions in front of 1300 people would be a bit daunting! Dare sounds like an interesting movie! It'll be intersting to finally see it.

And you're a Regina Spektor fan? Good taste!

I was never big on public speaking, I can't imagine giving those press conferences, but I guess that being a celebrity, you have to get used to that. I'm glad the movie had a successful screening.

*Giggle- Emmy you sounded sooo excited- I would have been scared to death, having to speak in front of all of those people! I'm so glad you got to go back to the same place that Songcatcher was screened at- it must've been like coming home for ya:)! I'm definately looking forward to Dare. Nice red sweater- red's my favorite color to wear.

So exciting! But since we don't live anywhere near any of these places you go for premieres and fan parties, I don't know when we'll ever have the chance to meet you, like some lucky fans who have pictures posted of you with them on their pages! :( But thank you for the pics and video of the Eccles...so exciting for you!!
