Welcome to the third
BloodThirsty Vegans newsletter. September 2009 Edition.
The BloodThirsty Vegans (BTVs) is a musical family that makes music (sweet, sweet music)
about
peace, love and understanding to unite the human family, foster respect for
the interconnected web of life, and remind the tribes how liberating it was to
dance the dances of
freedom.
Currently the BloodThirsty Vegans are

early September. So far we've started work on "Buffalove", "Commit", "Do You Even
Know", "Master Mistress", "Lovestream", "Rough", "Class War", "All Winners", and
"Be Peace". Stay tuned.

More New BTVs Stuff!
Brrrn made this cool poster, which will soon be a tshirt, but, which, for now, is a
poster. And it is available at the merch table at our shows for a few bucks. There
are also magnets, buttons and stickers still available too. Right on!
As the clock strikes September, and Ben heads back to school (along
with a lot of our fanbase), and the hours begin to lose their daylight here in the
Northern Hemisphere, we slow our schedule down and catch our collective breath.
We still have four great shows for September though, including a date with destiny
on the 19th in Pittsburgh, Pennsyylvania.
Announcement We are not going to be able to host Dance Alive on Friday
Sept 4th. We are looking for more volunteers and more bands to play Dance Alive in
future months.

link: MusicIsArt.org)
Music is Art brings its signature event once again to the grounds of the Albright Knox Art Gallery for a one-day, all-day, absolutely free festival on Saturday, September 12, 2009, 10 am-10pm.
The festival, now in its 7th year, will feature over 30 bands, 40 displaying artists and photographers, plus live art, dancers, DJs, a projection tent, not for profit displays, beer tent, food vendors and a kids village.
Sept.19th - Pittsburgh Show
Call us crazy, but we are determined to get ourselves to Pittsburgh and play a show
for the folks who come down to reclaim the streets at the G20 summit. We have less than
three weeks to figure it all out and promote it, we don't have a venue set yet, we don't
have nearly enough allies and contacts in Pittsburgh yet, but someway, somehow we are
going to figure it out and rock our hearts out for our radical friends. If you or anyone
you know lives near Pittsburgh and can help us out please have them contact us on
Myspace or Facebook.
Sept 26th - Benefit for South African School
We will be playing a private benefit show for a school in South Africa.
So August was a crazy month for us. We started the month off by
playing six shows in seven days all over Western New York. First we played a show
at Merlin's with Shapes of States and our friend Jerome which was a super high energy
show.
The next day we had Dance Alive on the schedule, but the UU church
was closed for maintenance so we played a show outside on the lawn and a lot of folks
stopped to watch us, and our friend Susan Marie even stopped by with her microphone
and recorded some of the show
(

The next day we had two shows in two different directions. First we
headed north to North Tonawanda to play the Kan Jam World Championships (yeah. for real.)
and then we packed up and headed way over to Alfred to play the NY Green Fest (which was
totally AWESOME and had a huge combo dance floor/stage area so that the dance floor is
on the stage with the band). Sweet!
Then, on our way back to Buffalo we stopped in West Seneca of to play the going
away party for our friend Jeannine. We were really starting to get spoiled by all
the warm weather and outside shows. Have fun overseas Jeannine. Be Safe, be well
and be enriched by your journey. Oh!, and our friend Amanda shot this great video of
Buffalove
(
video: Buffalove) for when
you get to missin Western New York. Also, the food was great!
Speaking of great food, our next show was the Vegan Sandwich at Nobodys. We got off
to a late start but after a couple incredible sets by Modi Sines and the Karma Salesmen
we were ready to rock out into the early am hours. Here's a video for Rough
(

Then, enjoyably exhausted, we took a couple weeks off to work on
recording our CD. We didn't do that great of a job taking time off since Dave and Alex
played an Impromptu show for some friends at the UU church and then we all said
"LETS DO IT!" when a chance came up to play a show for the kids at Cradle Beach Camp
(imagine a sea of dancing kids covering a hill), but despite all that we still
managed to get a lot of recording done.
Then in late August we swung back into action playing the Circus Show with notic and
Jack Topht and the Vegetables. Here's a video of us in our costumes playing Lovestream
(
video: Lovestream)
and below in the Gratitude section there's a video for Be Peace where you can actually
see Dave's clown costume while he's killin it on drums.
We closed out August with a show at the Yard playing with Fresh Guac, Soul Bodega and
the Purgatory Kings as part of the Art of Hip Hop Festival. Wow. What a month!

Thanks Amandapants
Thank you very much to Amanda for pointing your camera at us and helping us to
"see" ourselves from the other side. It's nice to have a TON of videos of
ourselves on YouTube. YOU ROCK!

Friends
Our MySpace network has grown to more than 1750 and our facebook network is
already about to reach 400. Thank you to all of our friends for taking an interest in
what's going on with us.
We can always use more help spreading the word in whatever way you can. If you agree
that our music is worth hearing and our shows are worth seeing, please help spread
the word about us to your friends and networks --over the computer or good ol' fashined
"real life" face to face word of mouth. We really appreciate it. Lots.
