Ginormous line at Ricky's at 6pm for costumes @ 50% off. No line at Party City, however...hmm.

The cops love to heard people like cattle in the subway and on the streets! All of a sudden, certain stations are exit only and  you have to resort to walking 10 blocks through massive crowds just to get anywhere. Trainfuls of partygoers forced to go out of ONE exit and ONE flight of stairs that narrowed at the end...slowing down progress even further. Sigh.

Ran into Von Pea (Tanya Morgan) and Che Grand at Union Square. Che was still shopping; looking for a gray blazer so he could be Kanye West. =P

WTF am I supposed to see when everyone lifts up their cameras simultaneously to take pics of the parade procession? I found myself watching the camera screens instead...My neck still hurts from trying to see over people's heads...

Top 5 Costumes (in terms of the of times I saw someone wearing them):
1. The Joker (guys and gals alike...completely in character most of the time)
2. Sarah Palin (they even gave out "Sarah Palin Scary Masks"...LMAO)
3. Rainbow Brite (totally random! Didn't see that one coming)
4. Super Mario Bros. (mad Marios running around!)
5. Oscar the Grouch

Honorable mention to the legions of Smurfs, Jabbawockees and Star Wars characters!

Fave costume? A dude dressed as a cross between an angel and a toilet.

McDonald's on West 4th weren't letting anyone use the bathroom without a receipt. Like, wow.

The costumes were great! Lots of fun to watch, and the crowd was pretty jovial...just too many people cramped into whatever space the cops chose to block off. Boo.
