Current mood:  thirsty
Let's see...I played with my band The Oblivion Click in Pasadena on Friday Jan 27th. It was in a small pub called the Old Towne Pub. A very cool environment, if perhaps a bit too small for our loudness! But it was really fun. We performed a 6/8 version of "Hold A Shadow Down" from the Charm Offensive CD. The recorded version is a straight-ahead rock and roll song, the 6/8 version is meant to be a "3am belt-it-out-in-the-alley" kind of thing. And you can waltz to it. Of course, it was Mozart's 250th birthday, so it felt good to be playing music that night. Before we launched into "Everywhere That I'm Not", an impromtu "Secret Agent Man" was attempted. I rather liked it! Hadn't planned on doing it at all. I've been writing like mad, so the next shows will certainly contain lots of new songs. We're finishing up recording four of the new ones now. They are: "Cartoon Safe", "You Make Me Smile As Big As I Can", "Great Expectations" and "Goodbye Oblivion". Coming along quite nicely, thank you very much. Next up for me will be the Translator reunion show in Austin at SXSW.
