Polk County Sheriff's detectives are seeking information about the
theft of a PCSO agency-issued rifle from the trunk of a detective's
unmarked Ford Taurus, which occurred between the hours of 6:00 p.m.,
Sunday, November 1st, and 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 2nd, 2009.
During that time frame, unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the
trunk of the car, which was parked in the area of Pico Court in north
Lakeland, and removed an Olympic Arms .223 rifle, Model #K3B, serial
#WZ2313. The rifle was housed in a green hard plastic case, with gray
foam padding on the inside and “Olympic Arms” stamped on the outside.
The rifle was loaded with a 30 round magazine of Speer LE Gold-Dot .223
