Thanks heaps and a big horns up goes out to the metalstock community!!

To everyone who has visited the metalstock camp or is currently supporting metalstocks continuality in 2008.
IV
This festival is for the metal - community, family and friends of metalstock and its supportors.
It has been and is only possible because of the commitment and passion that the metalstock warriors be it punter, band, sponsor, media or investors have shown for the festival over the last 3 years.

Anyone that actually cares about metalstock should read this post.

If you dont care about its continuation and just want to fill the thread up with inapropriate slander then dont waste your time, its simple this post is not for you, save your time for somthing you care about.and let me save you 5 mins

 DALKHU-NETWORK

"You will never destroy the souls or the passion and determination that has been

displayed and proven only by the true metalstock warriors from

the
past and present
"

Hi everyone ROB (HABATU) here.

Well people are obviously wondering whats going on in the
dalkhu
camp in regards to
metalstock
IV
2008.

Ok here it is!!

Its up to everyone who reads this post or that is involved in anyway with the
metal community media, sponsors, punters and bands.
It will be the peoples voice that will decide if the australian 3 day open air metalstock festival stands the test of time to earn its
rightful place and given a chance to
flourish and provide us all with
unforgettable metalstock
memories for years to
come.

-26-
The organisers have had a few issues to work through over the last few months about the financial risk factor and posibility if we will be able to put this massive 3 day 3 night metal party on again in 2008 for the loyal community and fans that Metalstock festival draws to its fields at every
stockade!!

I have recieved an enormous amount of emails as to the
Dalkhu networks
plans for the festival.

There has also been a fair few emails and comments that some true metalstock warriors had messaged me or posted on our myspace page that got me thinking alot about the last 3 metalstocks in regards to what they mean to everyone who took part in the
+reclaiming the heritage+
celebrations,
that is nailed to the cross metalstock fest.

We now have a 3 year collection of memorabilia and photos dating from my 30th bday celebration NAILED TO THE CROSS 2005 Metalstock festival detailing the metalstock festivals atmosphere and development over the last
3 years which would certainly bring a tear to any
battle hardened metalstock warriors
eye.

Some classic 'stock memories i have would be seeing good mates dissension's best performance ever when they raised the metalstock flag and set the standard with their flaming pentagrams and fire breathing black metal mayhem on
sat night 2005.
(Here is a pic that the singer sent me from that night so i thought i might as
well add it)-
METALSTOCK 2005 Dissension

The site and stage expansions, plus updates that took metalstock festival to a whole new level in 2006 and 2007.

Acoustic guitar smash-off and all the great people and bands that have made the campsite their home at any of the stockades.

These messages i have recieved inspired me to write this long statement and i am glad to see that people are feeling the same way as the organizors in regards to metalstock's importance and the need to keep the
warriors' spirit alive.

I believe if given the chance and support by the larger australian, and beyond, metal community the stockade will continue to grow in quality,
spirit and size providing the aussie
metal community,
young and old,

-10-
with
an anual 4 day
metal long weekend
full of memorable
metalstock
moments
for
many
years
t
o
 come.

Against all odds the metalstock bands, punters, and crew have
shown the fence sitters and critics that year after year,
full of passion and community spirit,
the metalstock family can get together without incident,in a padock
in the middle of nowhere and create a weekend full of
laughs, fun and music.

This magical weekend has been etched into so many
metalstock warriors' lives as being the best
weekend of their excistence.

They travel from afar and are blown away by the
quality of life that the metalstock
metal heads paradise offers,
and the
yearly improvments to the
festival site.

Even though under constant financal and logistical strain the
organisers have managed to improve the festival
site every year with better facilities to try and
maximise the comfort and experiance
that can be obtained for all punters
bands and crew who come with
an open mind and are ready
to be part of something
new.

-O-
METALSTOCK +NAILED TO THE CROSS+
Which was once known as easter until the Stockade of 2005
where we burnt a cross celebrating the begining of
Nailed to the Cross, the first and
original
metalstock festival.

This was yet another chapter in a
vicious war that the dalkhu network
has fought for many generations
against those whom from a stolen heritage
used distorted facts, information control,
lies, and mind alteration to instill
fear and misleading information throughout
the kingdom in an effort to rule
over man.

Here is one of those comments that i mention above--

[Am looking forward very much to the event, and am glad
you guys are getting it together once again - it's an
invaluable occasion for a lot of us.

Cheers and Metal.

Gary/Augur/Wood of Suicides]

This comment really means alot to me because
i feel the same way as Gary does about the
metalstock festival.

It is a invaluable occasion and i am honoured to be involved with the
dalkhu
network on this.

For me its the community spirit
and atmoshere that
all who attend
metalstock
create that makes it so special.

be it punter, band, crew or staff eg:The (Awesome first aid guys who actually really enjoy coming out there to make sure you clowns dont hurt yourselves too much when you smash guitars over your heads or swallow bees haha).

Also we have one of the most beautiful, awesome valley/mountain background settings for the campsite under the full moon of easter.

-07-
The Metalstock 2008 full moon will raise on the sat night 22nd of march,
day 2, right in the middle of the 3 day 3 night metal
carnage that is metalstock providing the
perfect setting for the
reclaiming of our
heritage celabrations
that was
stolen from our ancestors
thousands of years ago.

My parents have owned the property for 25+ years so i have a huge sentimental value for the farm and feel honoured to have spent most of my
childhood growing up there in
such a peaceful environment.

Its good to be able to share this beautiful place and hopefully a new exciting experiance with the metalstock warriors from the
05--06--and 07 stocks
or
anyone else that would like to make it the easter metal home and become part of the metalstock community as the warriors of the past have done, once again in 2008 the 4th installment of the festival.

I really hope that everyone who was there this year or any previous years
who has the same passion and love for this festival as the organisers
do gets greatlly involved over the next few months and
helps us to keep
the
metalstock warriors'
spirit alive.

As much as it hurts me to say this +

If we do not get enough support generated for the festival be it sponsors or discounts on staging, P.A etc, and a few more people through the gate via advertising and word of mouth we the metalstock Family and Crew will not be able to finacially set up the metalstock festivals home, Sakey's farm, properly to operate such an enormous ever growing event due to substantial financial losses over the last 3 years accumulated to
get the metalers
paradise up and running.

People who put shit on metalstock or have not been to one dont understand how much effort and hard work it
requires from the organisers to build this metal playground on Sakey's farm not to mention the always
increasing financial cost that is to run the
stockade.!!

While some bands sit on the fence and watch because they want to be paid and the
sceptics think its a dumb idea, too expensive, shit bands,
badly organized or maybe just sceptical about the whole camping factor and
whether they can have a hot shower or not the metalstock warriors of
05-06 and 07
Bands Punters and crew some of them for the 3rd year in a row
III
were
creating
metal history
in australia and
witnessing crazy
antics and a sense of
community and comradeship
never before seen at any other
australian metal gig with games of
touch footy, frizzby and a Boch'e comp.

Hats off to the guy who was flying the kite all weekend.
These sort of communal activities and things like the
extreame acoustic guitar smash off definitely
do make metalstock unique and
set it apart from every other australian metalfest past and present.

All of this going on plus 36 great bands performing on a massive stage and
a camping ground full of metalheads surrounded by
nature to watch them from.

My whole family and crew work very hard to organize metalstock and we still lose money
every year.

Metalstock is the first and only gig that we the metalstock crew/dalkhu network has ever put on and its a
learning
experiance for all of us.

Every year we learn something new or come across a new problem but we allways manage to get through thanks to
such a great
support
team.

Year after year the campgrounds and site become a bit more organized as you guys are now learning how to
set up
camp blocks
which i
*call forts and strongholds*

Everyone is now starting to understand the concept and the importance of the camp blocks and access roads
along with the realisation starting to set in that you and your friends can set up the
ultimate
metalstock warriors stronghold and
live like a king in
comfort and style over the
festival weekend if you make the effort
and
get organized.

Its people that believe in metalstock and respect my parents' property like the warriors of the
past have done for 3 years now that enables us to do this and keeps the metalstock
festival spirit alive.

Its that behaviour and amount of fun the metalstock warriors' family has shown they are having that makes the
people involved in the organising
want to do it again.

Year
after year
my parents and other community non metal staff have been blown away by the way in which
everyone conducts themselves
and the passion
for the
music and festival
shown at
metalstock.

Also at the same time we are
breaking down some of the barriers, fear and propaganda that the popular
music industry swines and
religious groups have generated
over the years.

To every one that has shown support over the last few years,
Thanks for giving Metalstock a chance and supporting it.
Especially those who travelled
accross country
or
over the
seas

TO
event
while others complained about it being too much for entry fee or too
far to travel.

We have
all been a part of somthing very important and special in australian metal history- Metalstock.

We have all trully witnesed something that cannot be recreated
at any other gig or location but a place similar to
Metalstock.

Where
the metal community in australia build
a little metal town and
become a true metal community for the
first time ever in australian metal history
+which all you who+
attended where/are
a part of.

I think people who havent given it a chance
dont know what they are missing out on.

Most people who have been really are making metalstock
their home over the 3 days and would be sad not to be able to go to
scone for metalstock 08, which has become a regular date on the
calender for most metalstock warriors whom have attended previous years,

Thanks for all the metalstock memories,
07 was definitely an experience
i will never forget.

Its good to see people actually taking metalstock seriously,
getting into the
festival spirit trying
to
make it as fun and unforgettable for everyone there and
leaving the negative energy back at home with the
people that didnt come because they where
all saying that metalstock will be SHIT
and it didnt have enougth
big bands on the
bill.

To everyone who supports the metalstock community and the
warriors of the past that have experianced the true
potential and magic that metalstock has to
offer the

australian and international metal community.

Any help no matter how small is greatly needed and
appreaciated.

It could just be somthing simple like
posting a banner or
starting a forum thread,
it all helps.

We will also be looking for helpers for the
dates of the festival as well,
for those interested
parties.

I personally will be doing everything
in my power to keep the
metalstock festival
alive.

In my opinion it can only get
bigger and better.

The more support we get the easier it will be for
us to put this spectacular event together and
ensure that the metalstock warriors'
spirit does not die
and the
name that is
becoming a legend
lives on to give others the
chance to experience what we have
all had the chance to be a part of

Australias only 3 day open air metal festival!!

Rob if I could add the sound of me applauding you mate I would.

Everything you've said here is 100% spot on and EVERYONE should get behind Metalstock and support the Aussie metal scene and start putting their money where their mouths are.

I for one, want MS to become Australia's premier festival to go to, and have great hope that it will turn into our version of Wacken in years to come. Bands who haven't played and want to should pull their fingers out and get in touch with you NOW, not a week before the gig and then whinge because they couldn't get on the bill.

People who haven't been and say they won't go, are slackers. Everyone who used to go to Metal For The Brain used to say the same thing as they are about going to Metalstock. "Ya might not like ALL the bands on the bill, but ya get to see mates form around the country once a year regardless and just hang out, sink piss and watch some fucking good bands."

AND THEY ARE FUCKING RIGHT.

If you've never been to MS, I suggest you get off your arses and get to Scone next year at Easter, because if you don't, you'll be one of the people who'll be sick of hearing our stories about what a great time everyone had. Yeah I'm talking to YOU.

Anyone else reading this who might be able to help out with sponsoring the event, get in touch NOW.

I've experienced metalstock from everyside of the fence, being one of the crew the first year, being there for a whole hour the 2nd year (had to play and leave) and FINALLY actually camping stock just gone (night one I got so pissed I passed out in 3 different places and tore my hand open on barbed wire, hahaha).

Metalstock rules. Nothing more needs to be said. Anyone who thinks it will fail is on par with shit.
Rob, keep the fucking dream alive!!! I'll be back in 2008 whether I'm playing or drinking. Hopefully both.

See ya next Easter!

Hey Rob,
Kudos on the post (however long it may be) every word of it rang true and definitely needed to be said, if there's any kind of support that I or anyone in rake can give to help Metalstock '08 come to fruition don't hesitate to ask. We only discovered the controlled carnage that is metalstock this year and it would be a crying fuckin shame to see it dissapear so early in its life. and you should see the fucking rent-a-crowd i've got coming with me this time!
Highest Regards, Camp Sodomy

I agree with all the above statements. I have only managed to get to one Metalstock 06 due to work commitments and is was fucking awesome. I will be there again in 08 with a bit of luck and can't wait.

If there is anything I can do in the way of promoting the event I would be glad to help.I work for the department of defence so I may be able to get posters and stuff put up on some cool places that others can't.(i.e military bases and stuff)

I live in Sydney and regularly attend metal gigs and clubs and should have no problems handing out flyers at such events.

If you need any help just send me a msg on my profile.

<center>Great words Rob.
i know how much metal stock means to you. But if you cant cover costs then it's hard to keep doing it. i hope all this can be overcome so we can all be there beer in hand watching great aussie metal in 2008

More people just need to get off there ass and go. Then they will realise how awesome it really is!

is there a better way to spend easter long weekend?

i fucking doubt it!

All the best rob and hopefully see you there next year

Everyone in the Australian Metalscene should support this great event.

I'm thinking whether Metalstock 2008 happens or not... I'm still gonna show up and get drunk for 3 days on your parents property...along with my whole band and the COI crew. And thats no joke!

The last 3 Metalstocks have no doubt been the best times of my life, and I never wanna go home afterwards.

When we were talking in sydney at the Dimebag gig, and you said that it might not happen, I had a rush of worry spread through my body and got slightly depressed.
But you also mentioned that you might do it like the first one.... a 'party'. Then the worry turned into hope.

So mate you have my full support all the way. And if you need help of any kind, you just let me know...and I'll be on it faster than a fat kid on a cupcake.

As I said before.... if it doesnt happen...
We'll be showing up anyway to get drunk at 7am on friday morning, like every other year!
And you better believe it.

Keep it metal.

I was thinking.... you should do a few fundraiser gigs before the event....in maybe Sydney and Newcastle.
I mean, get 5-6 cracking around the place, 10 bucks a head.... and theres easily an extra 3000 bucks for you. More even.
