Hoka Hey - Bruce was great at SolFest in Hopland California! It was a real cozy scene (400 people) with a set list much like the one in Bammf

(listen to it here http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/singleConcert.html?20070912bruce)

End of all Rivers was dreeeeeamy!

If I had to name just one artist who has been the most influential upon me, personally, it would be Bruce Cockburn. His writing is amazing. His guitar playing is impeccable. His voice honest and message unflinching yet complex. I applaud the spiritual depth he has always demonstrated while still being authentically human.

Bruce Cockburn.... Culturally speaking one of Canada's Greatest National Treasures. I've been a huge fan of yours since the early days. You're an unstoppable musical force. Long may you continue to create!

Warmest Regards

Bruce has been takin' me there for over 30 years...no sign of it stopping. One of my favourite tracks is "Deep Lake" from BINODIT. Bruce and George Koller (with Rick Lazar); ahhhh! I want that one played at my funeral/wake. "Strange Waters" from TCON is ok too! Love the guitar solo. Recently I sat 10 feet from Don Ross as he paid homage to Bruce with "Foxglove"...his influence is everywhere.

Hi. Maybe many already answered this, but... That pleasing song is on Circles in the Stream (excellent 1975 live album that boasts my favourite instrumental by him--"Deer Dancing Around a Broken Mirror"), first appeared on his soothing 1974 LP, "Salt, Sun & Time." If elsewhere, I can't think of it! (Not on his newest live one, Slice O' Life.)

What everybody said!... I too am glad to see Bruce finally represented here on MySpace. I hope he checks in now and then, that'd be nice. Only thing I find curious is the classification of music you chose - "folk rock". Considering all the things that Bruce's music draws on that seems too small a box to put him in.

I like how Barrie Ayres said it...also most influential on me. I think it's the reflection of nature that cemented it, while the inner city/road imagery added urban colour. Bruce's music really has been an important companion in my daily doings from preteen to now. Seems especially true in the fall, somehow, when those spooky/dreamy sounds of Fall and Feet Fall accompanied my desultory steps to high school. You can trust a guy who sometimes screws up his patter on stage...his message is always strong yet taking the high road. The song lyrics are high poetry, the guitar beautiful and always varying, and the feelings are sincere. I don't know why it's important, but if he'd/you'd just add to my 'friends,' that would be great!

Very very nice :)  Mr Cockburn is one of my greatest inspirations. I perform a few of his songs, passing the word of this man and his magical music.
When will he be in NJ again ?
