Last Friday, June 27, I said goodbye to my beautiful wife of 17 years, Michelle. She underwent a routine surgery to install a port so that she would be able to receive her upcoming chemotherapy treatments more easily (she had been fighting a rare form of cancer for the past 27 years). Complications following the surgery led to her death later that evening which, I am pleased to say, was not directly caused by the cancer, so Michelle did not lose her primary war. It's hard to see what the future holds for my son and I at this point, but we are both committed to forging ahead and honoring her memory as much as we are able.

For any of you who had met or knew Michelle, you know she was an incredible woman and her strength and faith were always an inspiration to those she touched. There is a memorial website set up by some of her former co-workers if you would like to visit and leave a comment: http://www.michelle.last-memories.com/index.php

Hey bro... you know how just how deeply saddened I am for your loss. I wish I could have made it to AZ to be there for you but I couldn't get there. I am praying for you and Christopher and you guys are always on my mind. Hang in there. I'm here for you. At least she no longer has to suffer here and she is waiting for you guys in a much better place. Our loss is her gain. We love you all Randy.

My condolences to you and your son.

I am truly sorry for your loss.

I honestly don't know what else to say...I can't even begin to comprehend how you must feel.

Keep the faith and better times will follow.

Peace.

Thank you all for the kind words. :)

Arlette: there's no shame in you not knowing what to say. I'd much rather hear that than some of the incredibly stupid and insensitive comments a few people have already made to me. See you at SHS next year. :)

Hi
I am so sorry to hear about this. While I do not know you I unfortunately know the kinds of things that you and your son may be experiencing. We lost our daughter Desiree' in 2007 and it was life-altering. I am Mindy's father (of HELLEN). Best wishes to you and your son.

Thank you sir.  Seeing Hellen live numerous times in the last year has actually been a bright spot for me during my grief process.  The commonalities we likely share because of the loss of your daughter and the loss of my wife were part of the special quality that kept me coming back to see the band time after time.

Thank you again for the kind words and I look forward to meeting you at the next Hellen gig if possible.
