Hm.
It being that we have done about 45 gigs in 52 weeks - some of which didn't appear on our listings because it cannot be known that we are still performing lacy burlesque routines for an aging but virile Adolf Hitler in a dung-clotted dug-out somewhere south of Cocking (oh, I went there) - its hard to chose the daddy of these many occasions so I'm just going to post particularly memorable ones:

Winning 'Best Rock/Metal Band Of 2008' at Alton's Lounge Bar with 80% of the vote!

The Onionfest generator debacle - probably one of the most bile-filled performances Carpark ever gave (its run by lovely folk I must add). When the PA went down the mic-less vocals were competing with the full backline. For vocalists out there it was a puking-blood night.
P.S. Whoever posted a video from then with the sun shining, cheers guys and gals but its Alzir, not us, and its about 7 hours early!

Several George (Petersfield) gigs - Breaking the door. A sea of smashed glasses and headbangers. Hot shit you mothers.

Queens Hall in Nuneaton - getting absolutely battered with Geezer Steve of POGO fame. Getting a black eye from the crazy fuck and Jerry saving my life by stopping me drowning in vomit. The image of walking in on Steve fighting Strongbow-induced constipation will haunt me for ever. As will the scented candles. Cheers for that amazing weekend Steve and thanks for saving my life Jerry!

Moles Club's (local) Battle Of The Bands - cheeky Carpark. Could have ooooowned but 3rd place all the same. Love that fucking venue. Its like coming home. A very abusive home that charges for booze but doesn't mind you freaking out in a dingy corner and rolling around nearly naked in broken glass during a solo SIMON BAILEY you grubby tart. Go get a blood test or don't come into my house.

Butserfest - seeing everybody come down off the hill for us and then rucking like troopers. Thank you everyone. You weren't even put off by the over-the-top security (*ahem!* Crown & Cushion and certain others). Carpark tips its hat.

The aaaaawesome Oak - MENTAL crowd surfing, blood and footprints on the ceiling. Guy getting bloodened. Stu Alzir stepping in on bass duties...a memorable occasion sir, I'm sure you'll agree... Our Stoo clocking a drunken squaddie fellow offstage with the bass. Hilarious stuff. Angry, angry man that.

...Day Of Rockening - cheers to the 'Endings chaps for an amazing bit of gig promotion! Carpark acoustic drinking songs in 3 inches mud. Serenading cooking apples and soaked punters with bloody huge pythons and ale only metres away. Hell yes.

Alton Commie BLOODSTOCK Final Gig - Soooo we didn't get to play Bloodstock but cheers for getting us as far as we got everybody. Dudes hanging off the cieling, bundling bodies (Cat - where is that video?!)! Absolutely, far and away the BEST moment of the night and we got to orchestrate it.

Having the awesome Komatoze dudes down from Glasgow. No one biffed in the fireplace but Claire and Harrison's drunken brawling has fast become the stuff of sexy legend!

Can't think of any more right now but I'll ask the dudes.
If you can please post them under this blog. We'd love to recall in tandem.

To all our friends and the bands we have been honoured to rock with this year THANK YOU - here are just a few names of many - if you aren't on it blame the booze
(Nervous Endings, Alzir, Sinuism, Maeia, Raze, Komatoze, Sons Of Merrick, Your Deadline, Bloodshot Dawn, Belligerence, Vallenbrosa, Hurtcore, Breed Apart, Black Skies Dawn, Bucephallus, Saxon Black, Dred, The Spoons/As Gods, I Am Jack, Devil's Blues, Malefice, Tesseract and many, many more)

Happy Christmas peasants,

Man alive what a memory! Yeah, sweat soaked, lager fuelled weekend which saw Chris Alzir go through three women and more importantly saw ACP lay waste to the Royal Oak and The Crown and Cushion will stick in the memory banks! I have never seen a reaction like that in a pub.. I can only apologise to those who got the bill for damaged caused.

Another moment which will stick in my mind was the Bloodstock Battle of the Bands. As mentioning in the previous blog, WHAT A FUCKING NIGHT! And I’m sorry to the other bands but on this occasion I don’t mind saying it, we got the best audience reaction (a travesty that the video still hasn’t been released!!!). I saw fists flying, bodies being hurled, grown men crying and I almost started a local feud by calling one member of Sinuism a cunt without a comical sense of irony!!! Love you man!

But what really sticks in my mind about bloodstock is the voting and the forums which I liken to the movie ‘Battle Royal’. In this movie the worst class of the worst school for that term is sent to an island and told they have three days to kill each other or they all die. Look back onto those forums and I swear you will see some bile filled animosity. It’s like Bloodstock thought ‘how can we get all these local bands to destroy each other? I know! Get a national forum where they have to prove themselves to be more popular than their friends!’ Cruel man!

But we met the awesome Glaswegian pose of Komatose! The guys had the pleasure of being my guest. While shopping Harrison (vocals) actually said ‘Erm, Stoo. Where can I get some Irn Bru?’ After I finished laughing at the all too obvious stereo type, I suddenly realized he was dead serious. Also walking out of the George and seeing Ian and Harrison killing each other and Conner getting his face sucked was also a too obvious stereotype of Glaswegian behaviour!

Hard drinking, chatting and sleeping ensued that weekend and I hope to see you cunts down here again soon.

Butserfest was immense as well, thanks to everyone who helped make that amazing. To all of you who came down to kick the crap out of each other, to Dan for driving us all over the place and Graham for roady duties and the amazing Sarah and Julie for minding the merch for us!

Basically thanks to everyone who came to see us, bought the tshirts and cd’s, bought us drinks, took a chance on us and gave us shows where we’d never played, voted for us on the lounge bar awards and Bloodstock forum and anyone who went on the myspace and left comments!

Here’s to the next year

Stoo

....all of these are valid points and I agree wholeheartedly..yet no mention of your newest member?!

THAT is the travesty Mark, right in front of your eyes.

Bless you and your oversight.

As for the video, I am also wondering where it is. I will cajole the young man. If that doesn't work, I'll just thump him.
