Current mood:  artistic
Oh what a trap it seems, to create an album; to spend hours and hours with oneself, indulging in the imagination and then listening over and over again to these moments trapped on tape (hard drive, but tape will forever be more romantic) making choices regarding often-times indistinguishable nuances in performances, tones, and textures.  A black hole with the promise that it may lead to a wormhole connecting a far-away galaxy with this one..

Paul Marino (sound engineer, co-producer) and I are creating out some rough mixes for the new album, which I think will be called "Rogue Valley".. it seems strange to post things like titles and song titles when the songs themselves can't even be heard, but I've written these lists so many times over and over again, that it's like letting a bird out of it's cage and watching it find an open window.

track listing:
Warming Moon
Red River of the North
English Ivy
I-5 Love Affair
Hummingbird
Crater Lake
Rope Swing Over Rogue Valley
Ursa Minor
The Occidental Hotel
Planting Moon
Slack Water
El-Ay

a couple of these songs we're playing out already, mostly because we've already learned a ton of Peter Gabriel covers and can't possibly learn any more.

these songs and this album is the start of a larger project, which I will explain shortly.. but damned if someone that sounds just like me two weeks ago isn't calling my name?...

CURRENT DETAILS:
**listening to Mountain Goats
**reading "Sons and Lovers" by D.H. Lawrence
**watching NBA highlight/lowlight reels
**sleeping - entirely not enough

When you're ready to tour with this pretty lil album, don't forget about Missoula, MT - Missoula hasn't forgotten about you!  Would love to see you roll back through on your next venture out :)
