Summer Wrap Up:

September marks the end of what turned out to really be a productive summer for The Box Social. FUSE TV viewers voted us the best band in Wisconsin, we rocked the US Cellular/Leinenkugels stage at Summerfest, and even purchased a new vehicle to get us to and from shows! And we did it all without stuffing even more money into big oil's already deep pockets.

Forward Music Festival:

This month is going to be special, largely due to the fact that it is comprised of 3 very unique opportunities to come see us rock. First off, we'll be playing at Madison's brand new, super cool, Forward Music Festival, on September 19th and 20th. The 19th will be a rousing acoustic set at the lovely Orpheum Theatre, courtesy of Nick J and Woods, with Bob Mould as the featured headliner. On the 20th, Dave and I will rejoin our compadres for a full band set featuring Mason Jennings as the headliner. This is the first year of the Forward Music Festival, and the band list is nutz! A 3 day pass costs $25, well worth it for the amount of bands who will be performing. Check out their website for more details and a full artist lineup.

Willy St. Fair:

As if the 19th and the 20th won't be sweet enough, we've decided to make the weekend a triple-decker and rock the Willy Street Fair on the 21st. We'll be playing the WORT 89.9 Underground Stage at 1 PM. By the way, the fair is FREE! There will be good beer, good food, and the forecast also calls for a 90% chance of good times. Plus, who doesn't love playing outdoors?

Heading into the Studio...

Oh, and this weekend, we're heading back into the studio to record demos for our new record, slated for a 2k9 release. As a bonus, if you join our street team or recruit anyone to join, there's a good chance that you'll hear the demos before anyone else. If you like helping independent artists and receiving sweet benefits (like listening to new songs long before the general public gets to), then joining The Box Socialists is right up your alley.
