So I still feel like I can do anything... and don't get me wrong, its a great way to think/feel just now and then your back (or something else) reminds us of our age and limitations!!!  Hence me crawling at the lightening speed of a snail hunched over cringing at the possibility of sneezing!!  Yes I hurt my back last night..  After many hours on our feet at the Bangalow Vintage Fair  (in vintage shoes mind you!) (An awesome fair run by Janel and the Love Vintage Team) I raced home in time to freshen the lippy and drove another hour to go swing dancing..  my husband  (wonderful man) gave up yet another rodeo to indulge me and we swung the night away to the melodic tunes of yester-year.  It wasn't until the homeward journey that I felt a twinge in my lower back... it could have been the (do anything for appearances) high heeled shoes or the 250+ BPM (that's gettin fast) songs I chose to dance to or the fact that I dance (still ) as if I'm invincible (you know ... get out there let it rip and forget the warm up or warm down phase) but whatever it was it was not such a pretty sight today and lord knows I was not the upright and perky adoring 50's housewife when welcoming my husband home from a hard days work, it was, hang the washing, vacuum the floors, rub my back, fluff my pillows, make your own dinner and so on and so forth.....  I'm so glad that we live in 2009 as if I was truly in 40/50's I would have just had to suck it up and forge on as our foremothers did.. we have beaten our men somewhat into submission (well not quite, that sounds harsh!) rather they have way more empathy, respect and a sense of equal ness with us now that wasn't there back then..Mind you, "The Look" which spells "enough" and the little can of Toughen up that is placed by my bedside was a subtle kick in the derriere to get me upwardly mobile and onto the next task at hand... so here I am....  Maybe I should have listened to Bette ..“Give a girl the rights shoes and she can conquer the world”. – Bette Midler
