Who Gives Kudos:

Sunday, August 05, 2007

Current mood:  aggravated
It was not a pleasant start to a Sunday to find several broken windows in the church.

During the week, vandals had been at work - damaging at least four large stained glass windows near the church entrance. The cost of repairing them is likely to be quite high as the work is very specialised.

With Father Joe still away, Father Paul was today's celebrant. As one would expect, the congregation is a little smaller than usual, but there was still a good attendance and some impressive singing.

There is a baptism in the church today - Aemil Joseph Perkins. Congratulations to all involved.

Father Ted Mullen will be in residence at the presbytery during August.

RE: vandalism, I think we need tighter security in the grounds. Secure fencing or CCTV i don't know- but something. I know the grounds are often used by local anti socailists to 'hang-out' in, not to mention boy-racers parking up to inspect their veichles, and there's not much to stop an opportunist thief from having their way either. What do others think?
