We just came back from a show on
KDVS 90.3 FM (
Live In Studio A),
and can say with the utmost confidence that the Analog sound is alive
and well at UC Davis. Thanks to an in-house audio wizard by the name
of
Fenris Wulf, the "wall of sound" that you hear on The Beatles' album
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band, has been faithfully recreated
(in Hi-Fi Stereo) - complete with the quintessential reverb chambers
(ala Phil Spector).
If you've never heard the difference between digital vs analog reverb,
we highly recommend the experience! Peter Frampton even went so
far as to use a castle to get that "sound;" and it was a hallmark of the
sixties (up to the eighties).
So, if you're ever in the Davis, CA area, stop by 14 Lower Freeborn Hall,
and cut some tracks with the wizard at Studio A (
www.kdvs.org).
