Hi
With the march only 3 days away we thought we would let you all know about the exciting things that are happening.
The cinema event hosted by the Cameo was huge success with a massive turnout and lots of interest. We were also able to give the audience a brief introduction into why they should be on the march, and to host a stand for anyone interested to come and have a chat.
Rebecca and Suse of EFN were invited to BBC Radio Scotland to talk about why this march is so important, and why the boxes of "survivor" and "non-survivor" are irrelevant in the face of the culture of fear. The section on the march also included interviews with Iain Wallace of The White Ribbon Campaign, and Sandy Brindley of Rape Crisis Scotland. We hope this broadcast will reach out to new people who will be encouraged to come along and show their support.
All the interviews will be broadcast on the day of the march, so keep an ear out for us!
We also had a feature on the march in the Evening News, and despite the usual comments online, the response we have had is positive, with a lot of women keen to get involved, which is fantastic!
We have confirmed that the fantastic girls and young women from the YWCA will be at the Cornerstone pre-march gathering to offer face painting. We ask for a small donation to them to be put towards the great work the YWCA continues to do with girls and women in Edinburgh.
All in all, it's been a fantastic week, and we are really looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday night!
