Greetings future Martians,
There is no doubt, I owe you a ZIA update!
Never fear, ZIA still lives.. In fact, I will go so far as saying that ZIA will always exist. We've been around since 1992 so we have a pretty good track record of existing.. :) Here's the latest news..
We're actively working on new music for the upcoming album "Drum'n'Space". Gary Vitagliano, who played a lot of the drums for the Big Bang album, is in Ireland gearing up to get into the studio and lay down some crazy D&B drums.
This is going to be very different from any other ZIA album! Why? ..because I decided to attempt to write music that is more like what I LISTEN to (IDM and D&B) instead of just relying on what naturally comes out when I'm in a headphone trance (
listen to previous 4 CDs to see what I'm talkin 'bout if you haven't already). This is an academic experiment, but I'm feelin it. I'm pretty sure you'll dig this one.
I've also had the grueling decision of deciding what city I am living in before going forward with a new lineup! That was kind of an important decision. duh. I've decided to stay in the Phoenix area and NOT move to Vegas yet (because I love my teaching job so much). And the good news is that one or two former ZIA members will be in the lineup again, as well as some other incredible talent!
The other ensuing craziness is a bigger and more involved live show. The Number Sine gear and ZIA gear have mated into a giant monstrosity of futuristic gismos. We will be traveling through the cosmos during the show, having adventures light years away, yet, before your very eyes. Yes it's true.
Stay tuned! Stay happy..
