Its all part and parcel with being in the public eye, you're bound to get negative comments 'cos you can't please all the people all of the time. You just have to treat it as water off a duck's back.

Hi Kitty, I find most people who read girly mags have a warped perception of what models and photo shoots are really like. It's a bit like doing a shoot at the beach and having lots of people looking from a distance as if it's some sort of taboo ritual that they have never seen before. Then blokes say to me wow your job must be so good because of all the good looking girls but they forget it's just that a job and I have to be completely professional all the time because my reputation depends on it. Yes the girls are gorgeous but I tend to notice there other qualities more and most models have a lot more to offer than just their looks. Anyway photographers always prefer working with models who are professional but at the same time fun to work with. As for hair, makeup and sexy outfits who in there right mind is going to do that every day. Just imagine spending two hours doing hair and makeup before slipping into some sexy designer lingerie and 5" heels. Ok, it looks good in a magazine or on a poster but no one is going to go shopping on Oxford street with that outfit. Anyway that's my view on things. BTW there are very few models that I really admire and your one of them so keep your chin up and keep smiling because you really are gorgeous.....Regards, Mal xoxo
 

I can't tell you how many times I've come across a blog like this since joining this site. I have some really good friends who've had to deal with the same type of trash talk about them. It's usually from people who are jealous that you got a break and they didn't or that they don't have what it takes to do what you do so they make themselves feel better by tearing you down any way they can.

I guess the best thing I could say to you though is to use what people say about you as fuel to do bigger and better things. That old saying about success being the best revenge is true.

 

I've also had a life long struggle with acne too, but it's cool that you don't let effect your life or work. And you picked an awesome charity.

try and ignore the comments posted on forums, the remarks are often made anonymously where people tend to be more harsh when there is no recourse to there actions.

It's hard, and I sympathize. There's obviously a few wankers around and they don't care what they say, and I'm sure some even go out of there was to upset just to get a reaction. You maybe shouldn't rise to it too much, as they might feel they've scored a victory that you're bothered to talk about them.


That said, I think to an extent the double edged sword that is celebrity. If you're in the public eye in some shape or form, there's always some who's going to have an opinion about you, and the more famous you are, the more opinions there'll be. Some will be nice and be your fans, others will be harsh. Most of the harsh ones will probably be lazy and ill informed. So I think if you chose to do something that's going to make you a bit famous, the more you have to develop a thick skin and just bat it off, and the more famous you become, or want to become, the thicker that skin has to be.


I mean I read and post on Big Brother forums, and the absolute BILE that gets spewed about some contestants by some posters can be a bit jaw dropping at times. You'd think they were in league with Bin Laden/George Bush/your evil despot of choice the way some posters talk, not just did something or other or uttered some sentence on a reality show. Not that I'm totally innocent of a negative opinion of some housemates myself, but I'd rate my opinions fairly tame compared to some, as I really find it hard to have much of hatred of anyone much, especially someone that's just on my tellybox and done nothing personally bad to me.


I mean apparently Lucy Pinder's going to be on CBB in a few days, and I've already seen her getting it in the neck and getting the usual glamour model tag of being a "thick bimbo." I mean I have no clue myself how smart Lucy Pinder is, and I doubt any of her detractors have either, as I don't think many people have heard her utter a word. All I know is, is that she seems to have a few quid out of it, so she can't be that dim.


But you know, there's positives too. I mean you got 150+ messages of support, right? Because you seem to be a nice person and a lot of people like you on here. Fuck it, I'd be lucky to get 5 messages of support if I had a plight, rotten to core bastard that I apparently am ;) :D.
So, you know, perhaps the good out ways the bad? :)
