WOW! What a weekend!
Well, Julz and I just returned from a weekend get-a-way - our first weekend we haven't worked (especially me) since getting married We had a great time - not without some stress, as it was all new, but understandable stuff - we had a great secluded camp site, in the Eucalyptus trees facing the mountains - at
Montana de Oro state park - we camped in
this grove of eucalyptus trees (which is, also, a famous surf break), found a nice little coffeeshop in Los Osos,
kayaked our little buns-off (it was really great the first hour or so, had a
sea lion playing with us - he was a little tease! then the winds picked up - and it was a pure battle!! we were soaked, it was a wild time - it felt like river rapids! it took all we had just to get back!), did a little hikin', taking in the pure beautiful coast-line - saw a school of
sea otters, watched some rad surfers, and a beautiful sunset! Then sunday, took in the hot tubs at
Sycamore Springs - we were the 'dirty campers' at the Four Star - then we did the
Fess Parker Vineyard(Fess is the famous actor of the old Danial Boone films - fun(ny) stuff) - Beautiful Drive!! A little like Tuscany, rolling hills and we took some of-the-beaten path that was real pretty. Haven't seent it, but was told the area that "Sideways" was filmed in. Also, did
Solvang, the Danish Capital of the USA (...hmmm, what to say here?... fun to do... but, lets just say, we ate at the "Red Viking" sitting next to a Chinise Family and an Indian Traditional family, being served by Latinos...)... and got caught in two traffic jams; one by Santa Barbara, and the other Near the 405... So much could be said. We had a great weekend - as Julz Birthday approaches, we spent some considerable time reflecting - We have seen so much happen! In a short amount of time! What a great way to celebrate!
